female hrt seems to have stalled out. please help me

hello everyone. im hoping someone here can help me or offer some advise. I am a 31 year old MTF transsexual. i started spiro estrogen and progesterone 17 months ago. i was on a pretty high dose of injectable estrogen. 1ml of a 40mg pre ml estrogen sloution every 10 days. things seemed to be going fine for about 6 months then everything seemed to have halted. my breasts stopped being sore and stopped developing completely and body and face changes also seemed to stop. the thing i noticed the most though was the breasts because they started feeling like they did before estrogen (just like man nipples and not sensative like female ones and not tender or sore at all. i had an orci 7 months ago and no longer take spiro. also my estrogen has been changed to 3 mg a day oral instead of the injections because the injections made me sick after the orchi. but the changes and breast tenderness stopped long before the orchi and change in dosage so i know thats not the cause.

what i want to know is if anyone has any idea what could be wrong. i cant accept that this is as far as my development is going to go. i mean it was only going good for like 6 months. i was also wondering if since i was on such a high dosage of estrogen in the beginning that maybe my body built up an immunity to it or something. any insight on the subject would be much appreciated. also one final note. i have an appontment to discuss this with my doctor in a month but im just trying to find out as much as i can before that

I'm not sure, I would suggest that you get into some MtF chat groups, blogs, websites, etc. Your best resource is other transsexuals.

You are close enough to large cities to be able to find a qualified and sympathetic MD who could do the proper hormone level tests to let you know what is going on. That would be the best place to start. Nothing may be wrong with you. Don't worry in advance but get some real data about your current "condition". You may need something as simple as a change in dose or medication. It sounds as if you have gotten pretty far on your own but this may be the point to find an MD who can take you the rest of the way instead of using a trial-and-error approach.

Breasts grow the same way children do. Their increase is not a smooth linear constant growth. Rather they grow in spurts with frustrating plateau periods where you are certain they have stopped and aren't going to get any bigger. Then suddenly they will get tender and suddenly you will need a bigger bra cup. It may take four to six years to get full development.

I have been on hormones for many years now and recently my changes have seemed to slow. I am not to worried as I will be finally seeing a professional who will be able to check my hormone levels (after years of constant battles with the NHS in the UK) If your not sure how its going for you then you might benifit from getting tests done.

I have also come to think that I am who I am. If I become to look more female great but if I don't and I carry on with hormones, I cant blame anyone for that... So I dont worry now..

I've had the same damn problem for many long time. The only thing that has worked so far is when I switched to ethinyl-estradiol. My breast size went from A- to a solid B and seems to be still ballooning out. All of this in only a few months. Estrofem nor Progynova nor Injectable What-have-you-- none has had any major effect on my like that since the first year I started anti-androgens(2005), after that, even after becoming in castrato, no estrogen has really done me any favors, other than halting hot flashes, up until just recently, thanks to the super powers of EE! (Feel free to beat me over the head with that wretchedly-constructed sentence.) Though there is the increased risk that comes with it, the increased risk for thrombosis and cancer. What to do?
