Man I've been around guns all my life, my uncle owns a gun shop and manufactures "bench-rest" guns. I know what bullets can do and can't do, the article doesn't say that he shot his penis off, get it right. You can have a small caliber hand gun and shoot your penis with it and not blow it off, which sounds like what happened. He had a small caliber hand gun, small

really messing it up, but not shooting it off. I think he'll have trouble with erections the rest of his life due to scar tissue. There's also the possibility that the nerves might be severed, there's the possibility that both corpus cavenosums were implicated by the bullet, but that can be repaired, though again, it'll shorten his penis. So I don't believe he lost his penis, the article doesn't say that, but he certainly has messed it up.

I think this accident should be nominated for Darwin Award.

I´m not used to firearms.

But for me it is quite clear that the dangerous end of an gun should show away from me.

close, but no cigar(pun intended). he doesn't quite qualify for a Darwin. technically, he can still breed. of course, prostate stimulation & a medical-grade turkey baster would be involved. his best chance of meeting an interested woman would be here or femdom.com

The headline did say that he shot it off.

Basically, any major news outlet should have a policy that self-injury is like a sex crime and the "victim"'s name shouldn't be published. I know that in this case the guy seems to be an obvious loser, but basically they are compounding the situation by essentially bullying him. Actually, there should be a law that self-harm doesn't fall into a newsworthy category ...

On the other hand, I suspect he shot it off on purpose -- I can totally see someone with eunuch tendencies, especially when high, doing that. The pictures show him to be not very masculine looking and maybe he had issues in that regard.

Any other laws you'd like to implement that violate the first amendment? Once that door is open how long do you think it would take for sites like this to be outlawed?

In a police report he made, he first said someone else shot him. That and the resulting finding that he shot himself make this a part of public records. I suppose it was the police not the hospital that gave out the information.

curious guy,

I don't see it, what headline are you looking at? If it says he shot it off, so be it, but I'm not seeing it.

Huffington post says he shoots his penis: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/1 ... 71984.html

Click Orlando says he shoots his penis: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Police ... index.html

Daily News says he shoots his penis: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... -1.1156512

I don't know what you're reading, what article says he shot off his penis? OK, I found one: http://www.topix.com/forum/news/weird/TGSLGS505VGO1A5A4

Apparently there's some confusion as to whether he shot his penis off or just shot a hole through it. We might never know unless he tells us.

I just clicked on the link in the first message in this thread. That web site had the headline.

As I remember there are two facts to be nominated for Darwin Award:

Killing oneselve!

Or to make oneselve unable for breeding.

The latter is exactly what did happen.

If he still has one ball, he can still breed with medical help.
