Castration in "Lawless"

Castration plays a major part in the new movie "Lawless."

The girlfriend of the head bootlegger of a Prohibition gang is roughed up and probably raped by two rivals. I say probably raped because it's heavily implied without being stated or shown.

When the bootlegger finds out what happened to his girlfriend, he and his brother get the two rivals in a hotel room. When a younger brother shows up, we see one of the rivals bound in a chair, his face contorted in pain. The bootlegger hands his younger brother a package with instructions to deliver it to the enemy boss. When he does, we see the boss open it, gasp in shock, and throw it to the floor. There, we see two large testicles.

This is supposed to be a true story, handed down through the generations of the bootlegging family.
