I keep on having questions. Im sorry but this is the only place I know to get to ask them freely. I get really pooped out around 4:00 (it seems) ever since my t levels have dropped to 10. Is this normal? Is my body just trying to adjust. I am also maintaining me andocur 150 mgs per day 2 at night before bed and one in the morning, and for good measure im using 3 mgs of premarin every other day. The more information I can get the better I will be able to deal with all these changes. Im not a trans sexual , but I was told that the Hormones would also kill any testosterone left and any libido or sexual desire. Please send me the info if you would. Scottie

Androcur and Premarin do not "kill" testosterone, but can counteract the effects.

Some of these drugs/hormones block the androgen receptors and therefore cause tissue and organs that normally react to testosterone to no longer be sensitive to testosterone.

Premarin is just an estrogen progestrogen mix. These are female hormones and will affect any tissue and organs that normally react to estrogen (such as breast tissue).

If I were you I would forget the Premarin unless you actually want to be feminized.

Remember also that women have testosterone too. Your testosterone level now is lower than most young women's. I'd be happy with that if I were you.

Do you perform any strenuous activity or work before 4PM? If your job is physically demanding, then that would definitely wear you out more quickly. After my castration, I found that heavy lifting wore me out much more quickly, but walking and other light physical work does not affect me differently than before.

If you have accomplished physical castration, then you have only a small amount of testosterone being produced by your adrenals. If you wish to suppress this last little bit, then I would think that the Androcur alone would be enough. I have no idea what dose you should take post-castration, but you should require less than you did before.

You can absolutely suppress testosterone if you wish, but libido might be another matter. I had surgical castration more than three years ago, and now I take 2mg Estrace daily on top of that. Yet I could still get aroused if I really wanted to, and I did feel aroused during my sleep last night. Castration will almost certainly reduce your libido, but some of us attain total loss of libido from castration alone, and some of us do not even with additional testosterone suppression.

It seems that there are other factors besides testosterone that influence libido, and some people have some libido even without any testosterone at all.

If your testicles are dead, you don't really need the androcur anymore. As for libido, that may take some time to decline, depending on your age, your adrenal glands, and other factors poorly understood. As I suggested before, start keeping a diary on your thoughts and feelings, sexual and aggresive, and see if you note a pattern of decline as time goes on.

Yes, it is normal to feel more tired, and sooner, after castration. You are in the process of losing a lot of muscle that is turning into fat. Within a year you will note how your shoulders have narrowed and you lack muscle definition in your upper torso. This can be counteracted by a VIGOROUS exercise program.

Estrogen probably won't do much to reduce libido and sexual desire. It may help against hot flashes and osteoporosis. I myself am on 1.25 MG premerain per day, but cannot say I have noticed much change except in frequency and duration of the hot flashes.

Patience is often difficult when you want something that much. However, you often have to wait and play the doctor's game.

Be patient and you will get what you desire. Any further action could be detrimental to your health.

I'm sorry that I didn't get to this for a little while. I just now got back from another trip to Dallas for electrolysis. YEOWCH! Sizzle! Well, it really wasn't that bad, but...
