Whatever is cached, we have no control over. Otherwise, no, we do not allow it. One Must register on the forums in order to access the story archive.

Which will probably lead to a self-contained search feature at some point, but I'm not gonna pressure you guys since you have your hands full with a lot of other stuff right now. Server moves, getting the stories completely restored, etc.

A search feature is definitely something I'll be happy to wait on while these other things are worked on first.

I don't expect to ever get a search feature. I'm not a website builder, but I know it would require setting up a search database; you can't actually scan every story every time someone does a search. The database is not always hard to setup, but sometimes it might be. Google has one and we could use it for free if we weren't restricting access to the stories. A google search I did found JRank, which is a tool similar to Google but designed strictly for internal site searches. JRank would also solve the database problem. Unfortunately, it seems that JRank would also be blocked by the login page.

The problem with needing a database is that it means search can't be made from scratch; a tool of some sort of needed, and Google and JRank are both unusable. When I googled for a while I couldn't find anything that we could use. I'm sure tools do exist for adding search to login-protected websites, but I don't know how we would find them and they probably aren't free. So there's a good chance that we never will get a search feature, unless someone knows of an easy way to make it happen.

The archive does have other indexes. Classified by interest, gay, straight, minor, penectomy, and, etc.
