Dr Phibes
Today, MGM showed the very extravagant and classy The Abominable Dr Phibes this morning and its such a great horror flick and a fun comedy in so many ways. I had forgotten how savagely it lampooned incompetent police and society.
A wonderfully lurid tale of revenge.
Vincent Price in a memorable performance....
And a pipe organ,
and nice jazz bands.
locusts, rats, unicorns, frogs, and finally, darkness...

Re: Dr Phibes
great film. the sequel, Dr Phibes Rises Again, not so much. lacked originality, lacked a theme(1st film had the 10 Plagues of Egypt) for these murders, & excessive use of narraration from Dr Phibes. if u read the wiki entry, u'll see the film got messed up at management level b4 the 1st scene was shot.

I agree and want to say thanks for "defending clear communication," I positively hate text-speak.

I agree. I detest text-speak.
The Abominable Dr Phibes is my absolute favourite film of all time and Vincent Price was glorious.

Thta is an excellent film. Well thought out, although the sequael is pretty crappy. The "pipe" organ actually isn't but i only know that cause I am an organist and enthusiast. Vincent Price was a brilliant actor , and I love most of his films.

He was a good cook as well.
You can find it on line Vincent Price reciting the 'Raven' by Edgar Allen Poe, fantastic.
Yes I am a fan too.

Re: Dr Phibes
I also am a great fan of Vincint Price. He was clearly a great actor, he also was an art collector. When I was a kid, I just assumed that Vincint Price must be in real life very much like the characters he portrayed, (e.g. "Shelby" in the classic film noir "Laura") and I disliked the actor, and his films... Then I grew up, and understood that great actors know how to act, and the real person was more often than not, very different from the roles they play. Dr. Phibes was one of the films that really turned my opinion of Vincint Price.
