Castration adds years to life

I found the following article on castration and lkongevity

in one of this weeks editions of the Ottawa Citizen:

Maybe the time when men can at least discuss the taboo subject will soon come. Of course, the article doesn't consider mitigating some unwanted side effects or maintaining sexual desire following loss of one's balls.

If true, that is a good arguement for castration at a young age. Thus, I should have been castrated many years ago for it to have any real effect.

Well, I was castrated at an older age. Maybe I won't live all that many extra years, on the average. But the QUALITY of those years after castration is improved, at least for me.

Interesting. There is a similar article, probably from the same source, onHttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/2268641.stm

It speculates on why women generally live longer than men and it specifically states that castrated men have their life expectancy increased by up to fifteen years.

Apparently testosterone has immunosuppressant properties which cause men to be more vulnerable to infection.

There is more and more evidence that castration is good for you.

When I posted the story "Orchiectomy: Is It Right for You?" on September 15, I framed it as a logical projection of current trends. Not a likely occurrence, but certainly within the realm of possibility. These news articles simply confirm that the world is changing around us. That "Reader's Digest" article may well be found in the August 2017 issue!

Thank you for both of these articles, now that I am a eunuch of 2 weeks and a day, I have started a new quest. These articles may help in that endeavor. In case anyone is interested it is to get the medical community on board with what the rest of us already know. Castration may be good for ones health and should not be scoffed at. Thanks again.

There is a report in today's paper (Daily Mail) on research carried out into the difference in life expectancy.

The researcher found that the 'risk' factor (ie: that men tend to take more risks than women) was not sufficient to account for the difference. But they also found that men tended to get infections more easily. What they believe is that the male body produces bulk at the expense of the immune system.

It therefore follows that since eunuchs tend to lose muscle the body may be using the un-required resouces to bolster their immunity and that this may account for the increased longevity.
