darker beard with spiro?

Post by transistor (imported) »

I've always had light-colored blonde whiskers on my face. I started on a low dose of Estrogen about 5 months ago, then I started spiro about 3 months ago. Everything is going great mentally and physically, except that in the past few weeks about half the whiskers of my mustache area and under my bottom lip are dark black. Even when I shave, I have a dark shadow around this area that used to not be there. I'm sure this is an effect of either the E or the Spiro, but I can't find other mentions of this issue for other people. Am I the only person who has a darker beard caused by HRT?

My hair and beard have been all white/silver for many years. Since I have been castrated I now have areas of darker hair and whiskers. I have no information about this from other people so I can not be sure it is the result of extremely low testosterone but that is what I suspect. --FLO--

Since I've finally decided to take the estrogen it does seem that more of my facial hairs have gone back to becoming black too. As far as I'm concerned it just makes it easier for me to see and to tweeze my hairs out. I've always been able to have a moustache and some beard if I was to go a year without shaving or tweezing. But it looks sloppy. With me shaving cream doesn't work and is counter-productive. When I do shave (to get rid of the peach fuzz) I use a cheap single blade razor is all.

That's because your grandson is coloring on your beard while you nap, Flo.

I grew up blond but my hair darkened as I got older. No hair on chest, little on other parts. Since using HRT (5 grams Androgel) daily, I have a full chest and belly of dark brown hair. Beard growth isnt that much different, but it is graying. I whack off a handful of public hair every month, it grows so fast. I even have hair growing on my ass - yes I didnt have a hair on my ass before. Of course the hair (what's left of it) on the top is going silver blonde very quickly.

Since going on Androgel, my beard has grown faster and thicker than ever before. I am changing razor blades more frequently and feel that I need another shave in the evening if I go out with friends. My body hair is also growing thicker and longer. I don't like it but the alternative is having low testosterone, resulting in a lack of motivation, depression, bone loss and Alzheimer's.
