hi all im a 31 year old mtf transsexual. i have been on hrt for around 15 months. i was castrated on feb 10th 2012 and about 3 weeks later started having some really wierd symptoms. I get a strange feeling in my head. kind of like too many thoughts going crazy all at once and extreme difficulty focusing. the really wierd part is I get hyper aware of the sensations in my hands and face. kind of like the feeling you get when clothes are draped over your skin but i obviously dont have clothes on my hands and face. this feeling is also sometimes accompanied by a headache and nausea but i think those problems are secondary and caused by the other symptoms.
I dont know if im describing this well at all. its sort of hard to describe. the symptoms started about 3 or 4 weeks after my orchi and have become more and more frequent lately. almost to the point of feeling like this every day. the feeling freaks me out and i refer to it as my "bugging out" feeling.
If anyone has any idea whats going on id really appreciate it. so far iv gotten nowhere with my doctors
wierd feelings after orchi

Re: wierd feelings after orchi
It's hormonal adjustment or hormonal vertigo, your body is freaked out because it's experiencing the loss of testosterone. These feelings vary from person to person or from eunuch to eunuch, but when you take away the majority of this hormone from your body via castration, your body is at a loss and you experience what I call hormonal vertigo, strange, weird feelings. These feelings will dissipate in a few weeks or months, depending on several factors. Are you still using HRT estrogen replacement? If not, expect these effects to continue for some time. If you've continued using HRT as you've stated, your body is still at a loss because testosterone is no longer inhibiting the effects of your estrogen treatment.

"Hormonal Vertigo" is a very good term for this. In my teens I also had "bugging out" sensations too but not exactly how you described them (probably the wording). I didn't feel sensations to the hands myself but I could see this happening though. Everyone is different. I even felt "feverish" to a certain extent, almost like how morning sickness is described. I'd also have hot flashes about once, twice or a few times a year. It wasn't until years afterwards that I found out that what should have been my testicles were mostly defective and had them removed. But I do very well remember having this "hormonal vertigo" from time to time. After mentioning this to a medical worker with a psychiatric background once and seeing them becoming very, very concerned, I decided not to ever mention it ever again.

I had never heard of anything like this. Iv heard plenty about hot flashes but i havent really exeprienced those. I mean sometimes i get high anxiety and start burning up from that i think but usually when i calm down i cool off. I just hate this feeling iv been getting. it comes with high anxiety and really freaks me out. I get all fidgety and can't sit still. I pace around my apartment my brain feels like a crowded restauraunt with all kinds of chatter and the wierd feelings in my extremeties especially the hands and face really get to me. It's sort of like the feeling you get when you get all tingly when you smoke your first cigarette of the day but it lasts for hours. usually till i go to bed. It's happening far too often and i'm not sure how much more of this i can take. its really having an effect on my sanity

Well, like anything it is probably better to check things out with a doctor. However, there are many common symptoms of hormone changes that at least sound somewhat similar. You might want to look at menopause symptoms. They list things like the following:
Tingling Extremities
This may feel like the "creepy-crawlies" as if bugs were walking all over you, a burning sensation like an insect sting, or just super-sensitivity. In most cases, tingling extremities experienced during menopause are the result of natural hormone fluctuations. Estrogen, one of the primary hormones in flux during menopause, has a complex effect on the central nervous system. When this hormone is thrown off balance during menopause, it can affect the nervous system, producing symptoms like tingling extremities.
And watch out for other hormone adjustment symptoms like: Depression is common and it definitely can affect some people with injection of strange thoughts, hot flashes are common and could manifest as "tingling". And lots of other things like sleeping disorders, disorientation and confusion, memory lapses, dizziness and nausea, increase in allergies (you might want to check on this related to your tingling sensations), rapid heart beat, anxiety, headaches, sore joints, electric "shock" sensation in skin (again this might be related to your tingling), itchy skin, digestion problems, and so on.
