After all, religion is the addiction that you couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't give up. Every congregation is a group of enablers.

Did I tell you about the time the widow chased the preacher around and around the pulpit and finally caught him by the organ?

...I do not know the above for a FACT but it sure makes a damn good story...

The following statements are true. Names are being withheld to protect reputations.

...I got my first kiss in the back pew of a Baptist Church from a little blonde girl...

...I got my first look at female pudenda on a little Catholic girl in a closet...

MORAL:

Catholic girls in a closet are preferable to Baptist girls in a rear pew.

:D

Well said, totally agreed. Religion is the most addictive thing, besides sex is natural and fun.

Religion isn't the real problem. Even if you eradicated religion people would still find reasons to persecute people they can't identify with. No the problem is much deeper than religion.

Sometimes I think the human race just likes to kill each other, and religion is a handy justification we use to excuse the inexcusable. If we didn't have religioñ we would find some other justification, skin color, diet, which hand you wiped your ass with. And so it goes.

Maybe porn - in small doses - isn't so bad after all. I just acknowledged my addiction with another 'session'. But I realise that in two whole months in my new place, not once have I masturbated there. That is rather incredible. So perhaps porn for me has become a kind of release, and life away from it is largely free of distractions. In the past I could want to masturbate just from seeing something on television, but that ain't the case now. So porn, on the occasional visit back to my parents place, possibly isn't such a bad thingy after all :-)

What is it they say?

Everything in moderation can be a good thing.

My mantra is, everything in moderation, and occasionally, even moderate amounts of moderation.

In other words, over-indulging in a guilty pleasure isn't a terrible thing, as long as you don't do it all the time.

I'm so moderate with religion, that one could say, I'm completely free of that little indulgence.

Come to think of it, the same is true for me with porn. Other than the stories here on the EA, I have no interest in porn. Do erotic stories even count?

I don't like either

with religion I cannot go without a day of not sinning so its to complicated to follow

with porn I hate being subject to its mind control because my sexual needs aren't being met.

I agree. Of course there is lots of cherry picking with groups like the West Burough Baptist Church, but the problem isn't the religion, it's the people. Those same types of people will use science as there excuse when it suits them, but like the reign it has been distorted. The American Family Asociation comes to mind with all of their biased studies.

Cainanite;

of course, erotic stories count as porn! I've got to the point that pictures don't do a damn thing for me at all... stories are where it's at.

As for the Original Post in this thread:

I had to laugh when I read that Harpers Index entry. I can imagine the reason for it pretty easily. If a porn site has malware, it's on purpose. Many porn sites are careful but some don't care about their users and allow all kinds of malware, but at the root, it's ON PURPOSE. Religious sites, though, one assumes are run by people who would less often want to infect users computers, but because they are obsessed with their religious ramblings and only have enough webpage creation skills to get one up and running, will, like anyone else, want to monetize the site... however they don't know enough to keep out the malware-addled advertisers. the religious sites have so much more malware because they just don't know enough proper programming to think it's an issue.

Porn sites do it on purpose; religious sites do it because they don't care, don't know, can't be bothered to worry about it. After all, THE RAPTURE IS COMING!!
