I went into the attached garage, and opened the automatic door. Once it was fully open, I pressed the close door button (at the far end of the garage) and ran out the garage as the automatic door went down... but as I got out the garage, the door stopped closing and re-opened all the way! I tried this another two times, with the same result.
Not to be defeated by a mere garage door, I looked around and found an obvious motion sensor less than a foot above the ground. I must have been tripping this sensor whenever I ran out of the garage, causing the door to come back up. I went back to the button, pressed it, and ran out the garage, this time jumping over the sensor as I passed it. This time, I was successful.
I bumped my hand on the descending door as I ran through it however, and now I have a bruise on my finger and it hurts just to type this. I think that was quite a reckless action I performed. And I got to my destination with 10 minutes to spare. Had I thought about it, I could have gotten the spare garage door remote control out of the drawer and used it to close the garage door from the outside. Or, I could have at least dropped what I was carrying outside the door before performing my stunt. Or, I could have probably unstuck the front door lock if I had tried a little more.
Instead, I decided to run through a descending garage door because I'm reckless, and maybe it was kind of fun.
Did testosterone make me do this? Or my lack of good judgement? Or both?
