Hot flushes advice please

Hi all, well it been just over 4 months now since my op and I am still getting lots of hot flushes in the day but more at night and now the weather has finaly got hotter here in the UK its got a lot worse I was up aroud 10 times last night. So what can I take to help please Is there any drink or herbal stuff if not what meds do I need? I would rather not have any more tablets if i can get away with it.

Sounds like you will need some HRT to stop the hot flashes.

I take a low dose T and I dont want to increase it im happy with my new life there must be another way to help.

Which T are you taking? My Doctor had me on Testim for three months. I did not like it at all. I had night sweats before the T replacement,however the sexual frustration came back and so did acne. Do you have cold feet often? I did and that was the worst. It could be 60 degrees outdoors and my feet would get cold,when the did not before. I will consider taking it again if I can find a comfort level that works.

I am using around 20mg of Testim gel which is a very low dose just enough to keep me active but only when I need to be for my wife, my feet are fine. I have tried Sustenon 250 3 week injection and I am going to try it again but I think it gives me more T then I want in my system.

Mother nature is a cruel bitch, ain't she?

As former males our choices are live with a low or no t-level and get the hot flashes but be able to perform when significant others wish us to OR... Go on a full dose of HRT and be pretty much as we were before our balls came off to include the sex drive and everything else.

If you choose the first our good pal mother nature will make sure you have hot flashes for quite a while.

For me I guess I have been very fortunate. I have taken NO HRT and I have had no problems with Hot flashes that I know of. a few times at night I do move the covers off for a few minutes and feel cooler, but nothing major.

I had my op 2 months ago and for a little while had some hot flashes. they will go away. just takes time. I am feeling luck that i moved back to the states last week and avoided the heat wave there. After 2 years there still dont get why they dont have air conditioning.

Oh well if thats it then its a small price to pay to be happy. As for England and aircon we only get the odd hot spell we seem to have very strange weather at one point this year we had red hot (in the winter) then rain, hail and snow then back to hot then hail again all in the space of 3 weeks im sure the Flash Gordon film is comming true with Ming throwing everything at Earth.

Everyone is different, what works for one eunuch might not work for another. Waking up 10 times a night is a lot, you need to get your sleep or it can have serious consequences. I use a low dose regimen of compounded testosterone. If you haven't tried the compounded testosterone cream, I think it works best. If you can get it, experiment, don't use what's recommended, start out with half of what's recommended and then each day use less until you find an amount that works, that allows you to sleep. Osteoporosis is also a concern for us, for you, that's why a little HRT is beneficial for your bones. Again, some eunuchs don't need to add back testosterone, but some of us do. However, as I stated before on this board, I can no longer add more testosterone to my system, I've been using the same low dose for so long, that when I try to add more, my body rejects it. It causes me to feel sick, and my penis shrinks up, and estrogen rises, but that's me. Good luck!
