How to deal with depression form chemical castration

I stopped chemical castration after getting depression . Is there a drug I can take to stop the depression and still take the Sitron ?

Good advice. Depression can spoil your life if it isn't dealt with promptly.

yes there are a lot of meds to help with depression and still allow you to lower your T level, but agreeing with the above see your Doc. You might just need to be on anti-D drug for a short period while your body adjusts. Thats what I did, and was off the med in about 6 months while I adjusted to the low T.

I had negative side effects from a sudden reduction in testosterone when I took Siterone.

But the positive side effects of lowered testosterone were beneficial enough that I went forward and achieved permanent reduction in natural testosterone, which I then supplemented with artificial testosterone, and slowly decreased the dose of artificial testosterone over time to a maintenance level that I use today.

For me, a rapid reduction in testosterone was unpleasant and undesirable, but by being able to slowly lower it I pretty much withdrew from and avoided all of the negative side effects of lowered testosterone. I

don't know if any testosterone lowering chemical will provide you with the ability to "dial down" testosterone slowly over a period of time so that you won't have the negative side effects of sudden withdrawal from testosterone. As we age our testosterone production lowers so we don't go through the same kind of sex hormone withdrawal that women go through or that men who are surgically castrated must go through. I guess too it depends on how high your T level was at the time testosterone is removed from the body. Going from really high to zero suddenly would seem like a train wreck that would throw the body's hormonal system into upheavel, causing all kinds of issues.

I was talking 1/4 Siterone pill for a year thinking that way I wouldn't have to deal with the depression. But I was wrong. My T count was 30 at the time I stopped.

I heard depression pills are habit forming. I don't want to get hooked. Plus I gained alot of weight and big boobs came along with that weight gain.

Many people talked to me abput my man boobs and that hurt my feelings.

I never felt the much talked about depression while I was taking depo provera. Quite the opposite for me, I felt amazing relief. There were of course the so called "side effects" (loss of strength), but for me, there experience was the opposite of depression.

So, as they say, "YMMV," everyone is unique, and even though castration does have some commonalities, there are also unique effects, that happen only to some men. I believe that there are some men (actually MOST men), who clearly do not deal well with having testosterone at the "natural" levels and actually benefit greatly by having that level reduced - well, at least their personality benefits, their physical strength and such may suffer a bit but it is a "good trade" in my opinion.
