The difference with Canada is that the government has more power than the US government has. This is because the Prime Minister is actually the leader of the same party that controls the House. If that control is majority control, then they can pass every law they want barring things that the Supreme Court deem violations of the Bill of Rights.

Furthermore, the federal powers are greater in Canada.

The US government is hamstrung, lame duck, most of the time. It is why I laugh when people talk about "the President creating jobs" or "the President reforming health care", etc. The President has no power to do such things ... he can basically suggest things and veto things (gives some bargaining power).

In Canada, the PM of a majority government can pass anything they want. So whenever that is Conservative, you'll see laws that are more draconian than the US.

I hope you're not serious. I value your input, and your point of view. I know a lot of people do.

We need people with strong opinions, and people willing to take a stand. We need you.

If it is left up to people like me, nothing will ever get done to advance our cause around here.

i dont know how much longer i can hold on. feels like this is the end.

i bet there'll be some people who'll pinpoint it all on "being angry and confrontational". They should however, look at themselves and then at me, and see if it's more a difference in circumstance between themselves and me.

I've said before, I'll say again, being non-dysmorphic is tough. You have no visible "progress" for people to compliment you on, no "end point" to transition, nothing to feel like you've "gotten there", "won", or "achieved something". People don't understand that, especially dysmoprhic trans people. Almost every single trans-support website you go to, everything, the name, the wording, it's all dysmorphic-biased. Ok, so most trans people ARE also dysmorphic but that doesn't justify a bias that excludes non-dysmorphic people. It's sad that within a community there is always some sort of bigotry and discrimination and exclusion going on, no matter how niche that community might be.

So it's hard being trans. Even more so being lesbian. Triple-ly so being non-dysmorphic. Nobody understands that. Certainly not the straight, dysmorphic trans people. "oh it's your attitude" etc etc. If they were in my shoes I'd like to see them do better. How many non-dysmorphoic trans lesbians does anyone know, who're happily being wanted for who they are inside and not being rejected by lesbians for what they have outside? I find anyone accusing me of being rejected on my attitude alone laughable, I don't say half of what I say here to potentials. Last one ran away as soon as she found out I was trans. Called me a "man". Not a single harsh word towards her, how DARE anyone who only knows me through this board cast such miserable assumptions on how I interact with people in every possible situation and every single social medium?

I could just accept my fate calmly, it doesn't make me any happier not to be angry or confrontational really, and it doesn't change anything or make my chances any better. I'm down over my circumstances, and I'll still be down whether I was angry or not. If anything, if I'm not angry about such a sh*tty lot in life I'd probably be emotionally deficient. Do I want to be emotionally deficient? No.

Punky,

I wish I could give you the validation you need, but I know that coming from me, it wouldn't mean what you need it to mean, even though I think you are both valid, and a wonderful person.

I know that your particular trangenderism doesn't fit an accepted mold. I don't know many people who fit a mold. I am as disgusted by those boxes people make for themselves and force upon others as you are.

People are full of rejection. They reject people because some parameters they think you should match have been "violated". It is bullshit.

People get offended and confused by me, because I have no attraction to the opposite sex. Because I don't drool over women, I must be gay. When I then don't fit that box, I must be bisexual, or a pedophile, or into bestiality. I become a freak, because I don't have desires they can understand. I don't fit a narrow set of ideals.

People will tell you you are wrong, you are broken, you don't belong, It's all your own fault. They are full of it.

I can't give you what you want out of life, but I can tell you, you belong here. The EA needs you. This community needs everyone who has a tolerant and open mind. This forum needs people who challenge our boxes, and make us re-evaluate our ideas. I know you have for me.

If you are tired, I get it. We all need a rest from our fight, so we can come back stronger another day. Just don't give up.

If I could, I'd offer to take you out for a coffee, and give you a shoulder to cry on. That not being an option, I'll say this; If you need a sounding board or a patient ear, send me a PM. If you're feeling down, I'd like to help.

We're on your side.

Very nicely said, Cainanite...

I have a difficult time following the ideas put forth here, sometimes...As I understand it, Punky is having a problem because there are no set parameters for her success..No goals to reach...No real guidelines...As I see it, from my weird-ass view-point, there are none of the aforementioned, because we are all so different that they are infintesmally numbered.. I guess that each of us decides his/her own goals(if that's the right word)...Happiness seems to be the only real definition of success...and if that's not happening, we have to find out why.

I'd hate to lose such a fine person as Punky...I love her astute wisdom...Jackie

Well some of you are. Many others aren't. I could name names but what's the point? I've had as much invalidation from people on EA as I've had validation. Sometimes... more perhaps. Who can forget how several other trans individuals, people who're too focused on being physically eunuch, or just straight up people who are only here for fetishistic reasons, have treated me and made assumptions about me, past and present? Off the top of my head... 6 at least, more if you throw in the assholes in the chatrooms.

Moi

As I predicted in post 13 in this thread. A brilliant publicity stunt by Mr Trump. Without this controversy, who but a few stray Canadians would have noticed this B-list beauty pageant. Now it gets world wide publicity.
