What I think
Well I went for my testosterone blood test. I wonder what it will show. I have been on androcur for about 60 days and some premarin just to kill of any lingering male libido. What im expecting is almost no Testosterone or very very little. This should convince the doc that my testicles are dead and that they need cutting off ( I hope sooooooo) I then can have my medical coverage cover this proceedure. Wouldnt that be nice. After the ultra sound. I am going to inject my testicles once again to make sure the job is done finished ka-put. Feedback, comments questions???????? Help me to keep on keepen on. I am so greatful for all of you and your support. Scottie

Good luck, Scottie! I wish I could offer you hope, but in my experience the doc's are more willing to see you suffer, even great pain in my case, rather than cut them off.
But maybe you have come up with a plan that works. I certainly hope so. It sure would be nice to have a castration covered by insurance...

Re: What I think
Wouldn't they use the results of an ultrasound (to check blood flow of the testicles, which would indicate if the testicles are dead tissue) rather than the hormone test (to check whether the testicles produce testosterone) to decide whether to castrate you?

Usually they use radioisotope scans to image blood flow to the testicles. Scottie's blood flow might still be good, but if the testicle is damaged enough it will die and the blood flow will slow to a trickle, eventually. Before that happens testosterone production would shut down. Probably the testosterone production has lowered already from the female hormones.

Re: What I think
Actually, they now use Doppler ultrasound to measure bloodflow, not radioisotope. I have had it done several times. It is very interesting -- the screen is color-coded to show blood flowing toward and away, and the intensity of the color shows the rate of flow.

Re: What I think
If my balls are dead and i think that for sure the left one is getting smaller and smaller and feels deformed at this point. the right one is very large and deformed also. I don't know if its dead all I know is that I can squeeze both without any discomfort at all where before they where always so tender. I don't think that it would be healthy for a Doctor to allow dead tissue to just stay there. In fact I will play there games and see that they also think this is a tradgedy. While as you all know I want them gone. So if you do it that way my experience has been that they will "help" you to adjust and make the necessary changes. So at 3:00 it's off for the ultra sound and then the results on Wednesday. I can only wish and hope for the results I want. Scottie
