Daylight Saving Time Health Risks
" . . . Loyola University School of Medicine report that there are more workplace injuries and traffic accidents the day after we turn our clocks ahead. Heart attack rates increase by as much as 10%. The time change is hardest on those who are chronically sleep deprived . . ."
Questions?

Re: :-( Daylight Savings Time :-(
Moi, the sun comes up or actually the world revolves around the sun, in the winter we loose minutes of sun light in the summer we gain them, Standard Time, or Daylight Saving Time is a man made measurement to keep us all on the same track if you will. If someone is sleep deprived it matters not what the clock says, the sun still gains minutes each day to the summer solstice and looses minutes a day to the winter solstice what hour we say is noon does not matter one bit.
If you don't want to change your clock, don't.
If you don't want to use a clock at all it does not matter, the sun will still come up in the morning and set in the evening.

I don't want YOU to change YOUR clock because of any government decree.
As an individual you are free to set it as you please.
That simple.
That feeling of an extra hour of sleep on a sunnier morning would probably be healthier then increasing heart attacks by 10% don'tyathink?
Imagine the health consequences of remaining on Standard Time. <the horror>
Moi
24 hours from now it will be one hour less, by government decree.

Just re-set my clocks, except for the atomic one - that one will automatically update. Good thing tomorrow is Sunday - I can sleep in. Changing time is a nuisance that lasts for about 5 minutes. One needs to move on. How often can one flog the dead horse - it is screaming in pain...?

Re: :-( Daylight Savings Time :-(
I always get a kick out of the people who have complained of the switch to 'more' daylight hours. Especially those who get upset thinking that more daylight will mean the grass will grow faster and they will have to mow it more. These people are usually from the heartland and are fond of mocking education, usually enjoy shows like Jersey Shore, and overall think anyone that has managed to get themselves educated is an elite.
Strangely they can't quite figure out that if they had been educated they would understand how moving the hands on a clock won't end in the results they are worried about.

Re: :-( Daylight Savings Time :-(
Usually out of bed at 10:30 AM, but today wasn't 11:30 AM new time but
Noon! & !
Why?
The stress of it all wore on me. 10% more heart attacks this day, remember.
I pity working people. Job stresses and those imposed by government to reduce retirement benefit pay outs I suspect. Got a better reason for it all? Right, we are all farmers and need day light savings. No electric lights.
<sigh> I'm not that paleo-conservative. Why does government time policy need to be so, Paleo?
Write your State Government today to end DST!

A year ago Xmas, Talula gave me a clock, it tells what day of the week it is, NOTE I did not need to change it, when I looked at it today it said Sunday.
Maybe I should send one to Moi, so that was moving the clock ahead one hour wont stress him so much. I can't imagine what will happen when we loose an hour in the fall, the loss just might kill him.
