With the re-election of Jeb Bush, I withdraw my earlier opinion.

Lighten UP!

They can't be THAT bad. After all, they turned his druggie daughter loose with a slap on the wrist, right?

It seems to me that the real miscarriage of justice here lies in the let's-keep-trying-people-until-we-convict-someone mentality of the prosecutor. It's painfully obvious that he's just making sure that he can claim a high percentage of crimes "solved" and convicted.

I wholeheartedly agree.

And one aspect of this case that is

actually getting less attention on

this board than it is getting in the

mainstream press (c'mon, *we're* supposed

to be *ahead*, not behind!) is that in order

to prosecute two different people for the same

murder, the district's attorneys have to tell

TWO DIFFERENT STORIES to the respective juries:

in other words, in AT LEAST ONE of these

prosecutions, the prosecution was

JUST BLATANTLY *LYING*, ON PURPOSE,

WITH MALICE AFORETHOUGHT, AND THEY KNEW IT.

That is MORE important than the fact that

the Dad got murdered. The BASIC integrity

of the prosecutorial system (which was revealed

to be simply absent in Florida, by this case)

is MORE important than any ONE human being's

life (since it can put so many hundreds of lives,

and indeed, the concept of justice, generally,

into jeopardy), including YOURS.

Yeah!

You are so right. Next thing that you know Michael Jackson won't be able to spank his own monkey, either.

In the mean time I sure hope that the dum fuk doesn't drop that infant child of his off of a balcony while doing the "GOON WALK" or some such nonsense as that.

I've been holding back on replying to this thread, but I can't do so any longer.

This entire miscarriage of justice is nothing more than a sick joke. I wonder how these alleged "public servants" can sleep at night, knowing what they've done. That's IF they have any clue what they've done. I seriously doubt, given what I've read and seen, that they do.

What it all comes down to is that Mr. King is dead, and he's dead because of his own actions - or inactions. His sons lives, especially their childhoods, are ruined. And who is to blame for this fiasco, other than the legal system there and what it has done with this case? Mr. King himself.

You can read over transcripts and the tellings of what went on until hell freezes over. You can debate the moral and ethical issues of both sides of this travesty until Doomsday, and nothing will have changed.

Where was Mr. King while his boys were growing up? Where was he when they were striking up a friendship with this other man? What was he doing that would allow his sons to fall into such a situation? And how was HE dealing with it?

Bing Crosby said it best in that old movie that I first saw with my AF when I was a little boy. In fact, it was about this time of year. "I don't believe there is such a thing as a bad boy." Yes, you could argue that I was in much the same situation as the King boys in his company; however, my family knew enough to pay SOME attention to me while I was in my formative years, as in teaching the difference between right and wrong. I flat out knew better than to do something like this. I had learned the difference between right and wrong a long time beforehand. Why, how? Because I had someone paying attention to me and not letting me run amok doing my own thing.

And do I worry about being stabbed or bludgeoned to death, murdered in my sleep by one of 'my' boys?

No.

I am secure in this because I KNOW what they're doing, I know who they're with, as do their parents. I know who they are exposed to, and we ALL take the time to talk with them. We KNOW them. We correct them, and we make sure that if they don't like how things are being run, they are more than welcome to pack up and leave. "C" just spent a few days in 'boy prison' where his mother works, he even got a new boyfriend in the process! And why was he there? He just decided that he didn't like life here anymore, so away he went with my blessing!

But as I mentioned, I KNOW him. He's back now, and much the better for it.

Obviously, King failed here, bigtime.

He's dead as a result of his own failure as a father and as a man, and frankly, the world's better off without him.

It's just a shame that the sins of this "father" are now cast upon the sons, laying their lives waste.
