Do People Equate the Penis with Rape?
I have read that some people (both men and women) consider the penis not as an organ used for making love, or for elimination, but rather as an instrument of rape. They see the removal of the penis as a way to level the playing field. Do you think there is any truth to this?

Re: Do People Equate the Penis with Rape?
As someone has been raped a number of times or hundreds of times depending on how you count, it is not the penis but the mind behind the penis that is cruel and abusive. The removal of the penis will not cure the mind but a lifetime of incarceration would be a start.

Re: Do People Equate the Penis with Rape?
As the legal definition of rape in many legal systems define rape as the forceful insertion of the penis into the vagina, I think that there is some view that penis = rape due to the social validation provided by legislation.
Personally, I strongly disagree that penis = rape, or even that penis = man.
My ex was twice a victim of rape, but she is even more strongly against the notion that the penis is an instrument of rape.
I can understand and sympathise if a rape victim does see the penis as an instrument of rape, but I hope that for them, time will help them come to terms and to realise that we should not fear the instruments of evil, but the origins of evil instead.

Re: Do People Equate the Penis with Rape?
There was a video on YouTube of Qaddafi getting raped after he was captured and before he was killed by his captors. It did not involve a penis. However the showing off of a hard-on is considered indecent exposure primarily due to its obvious insinuation of rape.

The term rape is a huge one, men get the blame of most rapes but these days it is equal for men and woman to be raped by the same or opposite sex, the penis is just a tool that is used to rape some one it in itself is not the rapier.

I believe if you check the legal code of most countries, rape IS defined as the act of forcefully putting a penis into a vagina.
Colloqually, I would certainly accept it to also mean forced anal or oral sex, or even forceful penetration with any foreign object. But the legal code defines all those as sexual assault.
