Injectable Options

Post by bigdude1 (imported) »

I'm about to go in for Gastric Bypass surgery which means I'll only be able to use injectable or cream meds. No swallowing pills after this surgery! Right now I'm on Lupron Depo which is horribly expensive. It still costs me a little over $90 a month after my insurance picks up the other $900 or so. I just checked & my insurance won't cover Depo-Provera. I really want to stay with an injectable because it's soooooo much easier, a ton less messy, & it will save me having another med to deal with on a daily basis.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for an injectable that my insurance might cover?

Thanks!

Have your doctor request a prior authorization from the insurance company. Many times insurance companies make exceptions and allowances when asked.
