Replacment T and drugs help

Post by jako9999 (imported) »

Hi all I have a meeting with my urologist soon and want to go in knowing all the info as you may have read I have had my nuts removed but not because I wanted to change my sexuality. I am on gel 50mg in 5g but its a pain every day they said about an injection which lasts 3 months, is anyone on this or what should I use, is there anything else I need to do with replacement drugs?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm in the same boat. not sure where you heard injections last 3 months, try 2 - 3 weeks. It was a pain going into the Uro every few weeks for the shot. I opted for the testosterone implants. They are rice-sized pellets that are put in a fatty part of your back or butt. They put 10 in me, and they are supposed to last 4 - 6 months. I'm going on my 4th month, and in a few weeks, get my T tested. I'm thinking I'm a candidate for every 4 months. The T supplement did not turn me into a raving sex maniac, but certainly improved my life all around. I was suffering almost all the effects of low T after my balsies were yanked, my T being measured at less than 140 at the start. I have gotten my energy back, I can concentrate and regained interest in many things other than sex, and yes, my penis seems to have gotten a little thicker and not drawn in any more. My wife is happy, and so am I.

There is some discomfort with the pellets just under the skin, but that is tolerable. Doc says there is an increased chance for prostrate cancer, so he will be watching over that. All in all, the implant is perfect for me. I have friends on the gel, and they tell me it's a PITA and does not work well. Ask your doc for some info.

The testosterone deep muscle injection that lasts 3 months (12 weeks) is called Nebido. I have several FtM trans friends who are on this especially since the Sustanon shortage. I think it's only recently come into common use.

I self inject testosterone cypionate weekly .5ml. It is not too bad and provides a fairly level doseage of T. I do the injections primarily because it is the cheapest way I've found to maintain a decent level of T. It isn't comparable to home grown T but is better than none. I used Testim for a while but it was expensive and a pain in the rear to be applying daily. I was on one tube daily and not really getting much from it so tried 2 tubes a day but that was 20 bucks a day which was too expensive. I now am able to get my T thru the VA at a much reduced cost but had some problems with reactions at the injection site. Maybe was a bad dose or something. It's OK now. I have been on TRT for about a year now and am surviving but would rather have my own production intact. Unfortunately that's not an option as I am primary hypogonadal. I really have to work at achieving orgasms. It sucks.
