Depo provera allergy

I read that some people have had a

life threatening anaphylactic shock reaction to depo provera. Is there a safe way to test for an allergy to it first, or is injecting the only way? Thanks

Scrap your skin hard place some of the depo on the scrap area but a bandage over it check the next day for a bad reaction
