I am 37 and started provera Wednesday my doctor put me on it he knows I want to be a eunuch I am taking 5mg daily I am 5ft6 140lbs is the amount I am taking enough to do anything. Any advice is appreciated I hope to be surgically castrated this year

Well, what is your main motivation? Low/ no libido, feminization or something else?

I want no libido and start my feminization my wife is in full support of me doing this

This surprises me. I have listened to hundreds of trans women discuss their hormone regimens. I have never heard of a doctor beginning FTM hormone therapy with a progesterone family drug. The vast majority of trans women begin with a T-blocker, usually spiro in the US, combined with some form of estrogen , oral, patches or injectable. A few doctors add a progesterone, either natural progesterone (which is expensive) or provera , a synthetic progestin, on the theory that it improves breast development. (some doctors deny that.) I don't believe that provera by itself, without an estrogen is going to have the effects you are looking for.

If you aren't satisfied with his replies find another doctor.

You will have a LOT less negative side effects if you start taking estrodiol now. PM me or email me and we can chat about it if you would like.

This reminds me - a while back I read something on one of the science journals about progesterone being able to substantially boost natural regeneration.

Might be fun to play with that effect, and it'd certainly be nice if we could give someone a pill and make them heal from trauma six times faster.

Your doctor should be able to guide you. If you are out for a second opinion you won’t find anyone here to advise you. If you are unsure of this doctor … run!
