I wonder how the Chinese eunuchs coped, bearing in mind that HRT and anti-depressants were not available. Maybe they were so numerous, until the collapse of the Ming Dynasty in 1912, that they were able to form support groups. Just a thought.

The Chinese have been masters of homeopathic medicine for the past few thousand years or so. Natural supplements such as Ginsing have been known to work wonders at helping the body adjust, cope, & heal. From what I've read they also more then likely consumed plant estrogens in the form of soy based food products which would have been a huge help. Add to that the fact their bodies were not poluted with a myriad of chemicals like our bodies are today because they ate extremely healthy.

Stop and loook at the overall picture back then and you will see a stark contrast to how we live & cope today. If we could eat and live as healthy as the Chinese did even just 100 years ago I seriously doubt we'd have the health problems we do now including depression.
