The Appeal of Clitoridectomy Fantasies

Hi All,

Great site. My interest here is in learning how to live with a diminished sex drive. No major medical maladies yet. This site has been most informative. I'm learning that, if it turns out I have a low testosterone problem, life will go on!

Reading some of the stories, however, raised a question for me. What exactly is the appeal of the clitoridectomy stories? I can understand the castration/emasculation fantasies, at least from my own paradigm. (There are days I fantasize about losing my balls.) Is it about power exchange? Do females entertain clitoridectomy fantasies in similar ways to males? What is the emotional appeal of the stories?

Back to my own fantasies, on those rare occasions that I have them, it's usually because I feel undervalued sexually. The fantasy of someone taking my testicles, or penis on much rarer occasions, makes me feel like I have something valuable enough to take. My usual way of meeting those kinds of emotional needs is to reconnect with my wife.

I share this as an example of how I process my own fantasies and what I do to meet the underlying emotional need. That seems to work for me in understanding the castration fantasies, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the clitoridectomy fantasies.
