Medical Tourism

I am curious about the pricing in a half page ad in Escala, the AeroMexico magazine. How does it compare with pricing here in the US?

It seems a number of clinics in Jalisco have joined together to promote medical tourism and put in a half page ad. The ad says - percutaneous corona angioplasty with one medicated stint - $7,562.37; cardiac catheritization or coronary angiography - $2,100; laperoscopic gastric bypass - $11,329.00; breast augmentation including silicone implants - $4,400.00; hip replacement - $12,800.00; cataract procedure with restore - $2,200.00; check-up for 30 -40 year old men - $$845.00; liposcupture - $8,000.00; arthroscopy of knee - $4,427.00, sleeve gastorectomy with laparascopy - $11,950.00; catact surgery with intraocular lense included - $1,850.00.

If anyone cares, the ad says for more info: www.medicaltourismjalisco.com or contacto@medicaltourismjalisco.com.

One thing to be sure of is that a tax in Mexico called IGV applies to about everything and is 16%. Be sure that the final price is not the above plus IGV.
