Re: Cystoscopy before my Perineal Urethostomy
Hash, there should still be another consult with the urological surgeon, even if it's immediately upon admission for the surgery. The cystoscopy is such a routine diagnostic, she probably only dropped in long enough to confirm there were no unexpected issues. Be direct with whoever handles your admission, tell them you have a simple request for the surgeon and it's regarding the surgery itself. You're paying, it's your body, and it should be done to your satisfaction.

Thanks Caith, good advice, I'll keep you posted. Still have not heard from the surgery scheduler as the doctor informed me I would. Maybe today. Take care and happy New Year!

Re: Cystoscopy before my Perineal Urethostomy
Hash,
My urologist required a cystoscopy before my total penectomy and urethral reroute. It proved to be a wise move. He discovered a small kidney stone sitting in my bladder, which was easily removed. He pointed out that the stone could have tried to exit my body at an inopportune time, like during recovery from the penectomy.
I highly recommend having the rest of your scrotum removed. Now that you are a eunuch, it is totally useless and, rather importantly, it might interfere with peeing out of your relocated pee hole. Do you really want urine dribbling off of a partial scrotum?

sw1911,
I want the rest of my scrotum removed, but my female urologist doesn't think it necessary. Convincing her or trying too remove it might make her change her mind about doing my reroute. I'll try to talk to her about it again before the surgery. I thought the same thing that it might interfere with urination, but that didn't seem to matter to her.

Hey Hash, remove the scrotum yourself, it's just a piece of skin.

Re: Cystoscopy before my Perineal Urethostomy
Yoda,
I did a lot of self surgery, removed one testicle mostly myself (had an observer for a short few minutes), after Kimmel removed my remaining testicle, I banded a lot of my scrotum with an elastrator and it withered and died. However, I still have a little less than half of it left. It's not that much of a nuisance, I just want to be smooth, no scrotum at all. I'm no longer motivated to do any self surgery, before I was possessed to do it, not any more, that's why I wanted my female urologist to do it.

You know, THAT is what I don't undewrstand about Doctors. Is there any reason for not complying with your request. In your country, they are so full of it, it makes me sick.
I agree, first do the Cystoscopy before she changes her mind. Worry about it afterwards.
You know, if it was me, I would go see a hospital shrink and complain about my discomfort and the unwillingness of the docs to sort it out. A shrink can be a good thing as well.
Just wondering...Happy new year!
