Acceptable Avatars for the Forums

I have another version of a couple walking nude down an old road from a Strip Mining pit... and, I have one of a naked 80+/-something Y.O. couple staring at the ocean with their arms around each other... but the one of the chick with the sandy butt and her squeeze with the sandy hand prints on his butt is the one that Bob/3 liked the best. There were lots of complaints periodically over a period of years. It wasn't an unreasonable request by the EA.

I've always been a bit puzzled why a forum with adult subjects, intended for adults and not for use of children, is always being sanitized to keep it safe for children?

I suppose there are reasons, and I'm not saying the direction should be changed or anything, just seems odd, at least to me. Personally, I've not seen any avatars posted on here that I found horribly offensive, and if I did, I always had the option to ignore them.

There are some members who use computers in libraries and public places. They are not lucky enough to own their own computer or they are in-between computers. Libraries and public WiFi hotspots tend to get nervous about pictures of a naked young man with a giant erection appearing onscreen.

Now as for explaining the facts of life to kiddies, My brother has ponies and does pony rides. There's a certain ago of little kid that always asks about the "boy" horses and the "girl" horses. My brother only answers - "that's a boy." or "That's a girl" and then "Go ask Mommy or Daddy" ... It's not his mine or anyone's desire to teach other peoples kids about those things. Honest. I've been around when it has happened.

Some kids never suspect that horses use the ground as toilets and they shouldn't step in puddles or those large, brown, stinky piles of manure. They actually ask "Did that horse just poop on the ground?" never suspecting that the animals do just that.

I hate to be the spokesperson for the "innocents" (That's a nice word that won't get me in trouble) of the world but there are innocents.

I came back to add: One night the police called because a woman reported that my Brother's stallion was mating with one of the mares. Like honest to (whatever you believe in) -- horses do that on a regular basis. It ain't pretty, either.

I was not bothered by the beautiful girl in Bob3's avatar even though that exceptionally large saussage looked out of place on her. Even for a guy that kind of a display is questionable.

If it is not being used for "hide the saussage" why have it?

I've been on the EA for about 14 years and I've seen how it's gone from just being a fetish website to being one of the places on the internet leading the social evolution. The EA is now more than just a place about castration fantasies. It is also a place where many of the deepest, most complex, most forward thinking social ideas are being discussed and promoted.

The EA is now a site that is in my eye above the crass and stereotypical, and trying to promote the idea that LGBT people, Eunuchs, genderqueer people etc, are all not that much different from everybody else. How are we going to promote the idea that a trans person is more than the sum of what's between her legs, if every other post is headlined by someone whose avatar was a great big stereotypical picture of a trans girl? It wasn't the girl's physicality that bothered me in bob's avatar, it was the fact she was shown in a way suggesting that is the only way trans women can be, that we have no brains, no other interests other than sex, that we're all desperate sexually. It's highly unflattering. Even Mac for example talks about her large sausage etc... It'd be nice if sometimes some of you could talk about other aspect of a trans woman other than just what she has between her legs and what size it is you know? And avatars like bob's wasn't going to help with that. So good riddance to it, I'm glad to see it go.

Put it this way, i get invalidated enough as it is outside of the EA, i don't need to come here for an extra helping of invalidation. Try putting yourselves into my shoes. Really.

While I wasn't offended by Bobover's avatar, I agree with Punky's comments. I think that the stereotype for the EA member would be of a person who is more obsessed/interested in sex and fetishes than others, but in actual fact it is the minds of the average folk on here that separate them from much of the rest of the population in my opinion.

The subject of the Eunuch Archive, is distasteful to many and could use the "off color" personal avatars as a legal reasoning to try to take down the Eunuch Archive and make life hard on the archive administrators. Don't we love Political Correctness.

No, I don't. <I realize you were being cynical.> Political Correctness is simply sugar-coating the words, instead of changing people's hearts and minds to be more open and understanding. People who use PC language are simply trivializing us in what they perceive to be a socially-acceptable manner. It's still a label, no matter how socially acceptable it might seem. That's a bit too trivializing for me to accept, honestly.
