Acceptable Avatars for the Forums
Acceptable Avatars for the Forums
Weve recently been having some back room discussions regarding the avatars (ID photos on the forums) folks are using. For some time we have been using a policy that if the photo or cartoon (whatever) is not suitable for showing in a public office, it is not suitable for the forums. I have made a couple of exceptions simply because they and their pics were here before the implementation of the policy. We, in our discussions, have come to the conclusion that even the old avatars need to go, and those folks are being asked to change them. Some have already. Replacement photos of minors need to be of the person posting it at all times. More exotic, erotic, or raunchy photos need to be confined to the personals section, and appropriately marked as adult, if needed.

Dear Kristoff
I do hope you will retain "Nuke a Gay Baby Whale for Jesus". It always brightens my day.
All good wishes

I think that Kristoff's signature is perfectly acceptable, but only so long as you realize he's not talking about THIS Jesus. Whale can be delicious. I've eaten it on more than one occasion. But, I prefer whale watching to whale eating, and I'd certainly never want to nuke one. I prefer them raw (with a little soy sauce and grated ginger) to microwaved....
(Horsemeat is also best thinly sliced and raw with grated ginger, though I had some nice roasts when I was a graduate student and horse was far cheaper than beef. The Japanese for raw horsemeat is "sakura-niku," which translates as 'cherry blossom meat.' It does have a faint floral odor.)

I was wondering about that myself and finally got brave enough to bluff my way through it.
At the top of the page, you should see a "button" named "Settings". Click on that. It takes you to a page showing various things about your account. On the left, find a link named "Edit Avatar". Click on that. If you have a Web-compatible image on your computer that you want to use, click on the Browse button under "Option 2" to locate the image to upload. You also have the option to grab one from another Web site or select "Do not use an avatar". If you want to change your avatar, you can simply go through the same process you used to get the initial one activated.

You have one of, presumably, yourself in a green shirt. I expect you probably followed Sandi's advice on how to load one.

Honestly I haven't a clue where it is from, I've had it on my computer a long time.
