Actually, sometimes I like the literal word-for-word translations as they give a bit of flavor of the culture. For example, they keep calling the penis his "life's blood" which is interesting. We call it "manhood" which has a different connotation.

I agree with SplitDik, the video is a tremendous contribution to the story. Those who have done Poser work - especially animated - know the computer-generated portion represents an enormous amount of work. Presumably someone, expert in the software application, was contracted by the media company to create the CGI portion. What a job, eh? - with the admonition "You can't show the penis! show a banana or something getting snipped, they'll get the idea!"

Is the woman with the mask over her mouth the actual perpetrator? or is she a re-enactment stand-in? She makes some excellent and erotic snipping motions, over and over. And she's attractive. This is very hot!

It's cool to see her interviewed and so gleeful about the whole thing. However, is the Taiwanese legal system so different that the woman's lawyer or police would let her be interviewed? I visit Taiwan a couple times a year on business, and it is very orderly and seems like the rule of law is very similar to ours. But I must be missing something because no lawyer here would let their client be interviewed like that and basically incriminate herself. I realize that she already turned herself in and admitted it, but still it can't be good for her defense. You can see how quiet the woman in California has been since she cut off her guy's penis -- no news at all except brief court hearings.

I wonder if she's a media-supplied "re-enactor", maybe one who is speaking the words of the culprit but supplies her own interpretation via demeanor and body language, including her graphic "snip" motions. A lot of "reality shows" in the U.S. do re-enactments of the events portrayed, not always with the original cast. Given the care and attention devoted to the computer-graphic portrayal of the event, it wouldn't surprise me if they hired an actress to portray the culprit, who is constrained to speaking the words attributed to the accused, but is free to interpret the demeanor of the woman she's portraying in any way she chooses. Just a theory ...

Not Nordic type, but there was the refugee from the Bosnian war, who took up a new life in Kentucky I think, who was hauled back to Europe for war crime trials a few months ago.
