how does one access messages sent?

i typed out a response to a friend request but was informed that i don't have permission to do this...

You only have four more posts to make before you can access private messages. No one may access them until they have posted at least 5 non-political posts.

oh that's glorious, i read the other boards but just haven't felt that I have the experience to respond and was wondering why i could not send or receive pms.

Glad i finally came ot the forum help section other wise i probably never would have realized.
