This is sad, women in America be thankful - for now. The more that Islam grows in America, the more dangerous this kind of thing becomes. One day Shria Law will be implemented in America and once it's implemented, America dies.

Luckily in America there's nothing like forced male infant circumcision... America being (of course) much more progressive and advanced than all those Third World countries etc.

That would be a shame if some foreign cultures would be allowed entrance into the US, destroying the US culture (which is actually pure) - especially now that the US are doing so well with their finances, unemployment etc.

If you look at the second picture you'll clearly see a ball closure ring in a healed outer labia piercing. So I'm pretty sure this is not a picture of a young girl being ritually circumcised. More likely, a picture pulled off BME (etc.) of a woman having her labia trimmed for aesthetic purposes. That does not detract from my feeling that ritual circumcision of non-consenting infants/children is wrong, but it does cause me discomfort about the integrity of the writer of the article.

I'm not aware of any Islamic sect that allows decorative piercings on females, such as this one.

I have to agree, I think the writer of the article heisted the pic from somewhere and just used it.

Also, keep the political aspects of this to a minimum, and start a new thread in the PF if you want to argue about it.

Hmmm, that is interesting. However, I'm not convinced that is a piercing. It may be a clamp being used to hold the vulva open. You can see there is one on the other side as well, and both of them have a "rope" going through to put tension on the area. Of course they may just be opportunistically using available piercings, like you said as a BME thing, but the fact that they seem to be part of the operation, and that the operation otherwise looks pretty professional, makes me think that is just a technique for holding open the vagina during a surgery. On the other hand, it sure does look like piercings.

..the genitalia displayed is NOT that of a young girl, but instead it is that of an adult female, shaved.

...nowhere in the Middle East are paper drapes used for surgical procedures, much less for ritualistic circumcision.

This picture is taken out of its context. This is from a clitoral hood removal picture series and nothing else. Cutter is an amateur (middle aged male) and in the last pictures he seems to be eating the hood. Pics may still be at BME but I'm no longer a member there so I'm not sure.
