I rather like the idea of a tattoo of Dicky Cheney kissing my ass!

If some person has a real wish about it’s body modification, knows the consequences and risks, why shoud we to put obstacles in his way? Plastic surgeons work the same way. They talk to the clients, they inform they about the risks.

And how do you propose to sort out the "idiots, that have no clue" from the people who know understand the risks and consequences? Should we really just leave it up to the urologists and SRS surgeons? Most urologists are not psychologist or psychiatrists, and they have a conflict of interests because they make more money the more surgeries they perform. It happened in Thailand to the point they had to put a ban in place.

In the US we had Dr.Kimmle and Dr.Spector who did not require any letters of recommendation. With such easy access to surgery there must be many people who now regret having been castrated. Had they received counseling they might have chosen a different path and be leading a more fulfilling well adjusted lives.

Please don't get me wrong, I advocate for the idea that people should be allowed to get the treatment that will make them whole, but I also see the need for the gate keepers to protect the misguided. The solution really is to make sure that the gatekeepers are more open minded. They need to understand that there are more than two genders. It's not less regulation that we need but more compassion and education.

Though this thread is getting interesting, I have to say that it is rude to demand an opinion on one of our political discussions of a newcomer, before he has had time to look around and get familiar with the territory in this rather obscure part of the human landscape. Give him time to get familiar.

And to mbraun1980, welcome. If you have questions try our search function. There's a lot of information lurking in our vaults.

I had similar experiences running trans support groups, when a newcomer, whose wife had caught him wearing her panties, ended up being grilled by the surgery track trannies about his ideal hormone regimine and choice of SRS surgeon.
