Atlanta MoM?

Kristoff and I will both be attending (and presenting at) the 2011 biennial meeting of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health in Atlanta, Georgia from Sunday, September 25th through Wednesday, September 28th. The theme of the conference is “Transgender Beyond Disorder: Identity, Community, and Health”.

The WPATH conference overlaps with the annual Southern Comfort transgender conference (Wednesday, September 21st through Sunday, September 25th). Sunday will be a day of joint meetings of the two groups, together with the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, at the Emory University Conference Center.

Kristoff and I are both part of a panel that begins at 8:00 am on Monday morning. Kristoff will be speaking about “Eunuchs: Body Integrity Identity Disorder and castration” and my title will be “Eunuchs: Personality and sexuality”. There will be three additional papers on eunuchs in our panel.

We look forward to meeting any Eunuch Archive members who will be attending the Southern Comfort conference. If we don’t meet up beforehand, we can gather to talk at the Wine and Cheese celebration at the end of the day on Sunday.

Drop a <Private Message> to either Kristoff or me if you plan to attend Southern Comfort or are in the Atlanta area and would like to arrange to meet outside the conference framework. We can begin further planning once we know that there are members who would be interested in gathering.

I would absolutely LOVE to meet up with you both. I recently met with other members during their visit to Charlotte, and the lunch we shared was a rare moment meeting and speaking with friends of like minds. While I'm not attending SCC, I'd be happy to enjoy a meet and greet with other EA members. Thank you both for suggesting this southeastern MoM moment!!
