Re: Make that darn itch stop!!
You probably suffer of inflammation. Does your skin itch more after a hot shower? (Lowering water temp will help ) If so you'll have to change your diet because there are food that are reputable to be inflammatory while others are anti inflammatory. All food containing eggs, dairy product, sugar, flour, red meat will affect peoples with inflammatory problems. Food that are anti inflammatory such as small berries or any colourful veggies, fruits (anti inflammatory molecules are contain in the peal) 70% chocolate, omega 3 , like olive oil fat fish. Most skin problems are caused by inflamation, low testosterone may cause inflammation. To find out more about it, Google up anti inflammatory diet, it worked for me.

Re: Make that darn itch stop!!
I follow a mostly gluten free diet and low glycemic index carb diet.
I have to restrict my carb consumption and resort to a higher ratio of monosaturated fats and good medium chain fatty acids(MCT and cocnut oil) and lean protein cuz I'm very endomorphic.
Loosing pounds has been my achilles heel however ever since I've started the South beach diet I've felt cleaner and healthier.
Doubtful diet is the root cause of my problems especially at my age.
It could be hot showers cuz I definetly take too long to bathe and sauna a lot.
But I also have dogs here in the house.
But I'll definetly increase my fruit intake. Thanks for your help

Fish oil and the like are rumored to help too, as is seeking out pastured meats and eggs. Your mileage will vary; find out what foods cause itching, sniffles, adrenaline or endorphin rushes, and the like, and cut those out. It's surprisingly easy to do.

Do you moisturize after you shower? Neutrogena's sesame body oil is VERY nice, as is any good body lotion. Apply them after you shower, while you're still wet.

Soap can be very irritating to the skin. I agree with lowering the temperature of the water and make sure you are rinsing completely. When you shower your removing oils from your skin so Caith gave you very good advice about using body oils. I would buy hygiene products for sensitive skin without scents. If you sauna in a public sauna make sure you have not picked up a parasite. Scabies can sure make you itch.

Re: Make that darn itch stop!!
Okay, I didn't think I'd share this little tidbit, but this seems like the perfect place for it.
My left testicle itches often. Not the left side of my scrotum. My left fucking testicle! (Sorry for swearing. I usually try to be more eloquent, but this fucker drives me insane.)
The itch emanates from where the cord (the Vas deferens) attaches to the top of my left testicle. I swear there have been times I vividly imagined myself cutting into my scrotum just to get at that damnable itch. It keeps me up some nights.
What can I do? Answer, I scratch what I can reach.
Sometimes scratching away at the side of my scrotum has left me raw. Sometimes if I scratch too deeply with my fingernail, I damage the surface skin. Joy of joys, that does not help. If I scratch too deeply I get rough patches of skin on my scrotum as the skin tries to heal. Boy-howdy is that not fun. I get to have an itchy patch of healing skin OVER an itchy testicle I can't reach. I'm twitching just describing this.
This isn't a skin problem, I'm a pretty clean guy, and I don't have any allergies to any foods. (apparently the only thing I'm allergic to is eucalyptus. Oddly, I don't eat any eucalyptus, nor is there any in any soaps I use.) The older I get, the worse this itch is becoming. I think I'll have to tell my doctor about it if it gets worse. Of course I'm putting it off. I've had enough embarrassments with my doctor, that I'm not keen to add this gem to the equation.
It's not swollen or anything, and there are no unusual lumps to be found, just an ever present damnable itch.
Any ideas what THAT could be about?

Is your home relatively dry?
It could be a minor case of dermatitis. Apparently Tugon was right. The fricken soap was to blame(As was my case; Now I resort to an oatmeal bar soap)
However lack of humidity was worsening my symptoms and it gets unbearable to the point of sleep deprivation.
Time to purchase a decent humidifier!
