Where can I find a Copy of This Story??

Post by blackrose51 (imported) »

It's indeed sad to see the fiction archive gone - hopefully it will return but if so, will it be complete? Unfortunately, along with the countless other writings, my personal favorite disapeared as well. Did anyone save a copy of "The Grand Master's Plan" and if so, I would really appreciate it if you could email it to me. Or is it posted somewhere else on another site that someone knows of? That story had a profound impact on me the first time that I read it in accepting my own true sexual nature and I always enjoyed reading it nomatter how many times I had read iit before. Perhaps it was partly due to the fact thatthe main character's name is the same as my own - but I;d really like a copy of it for myself - not to repost on other sites or share - but just for myself. Thanks inadvance and I REALLY do hope that the stopry forum is revived and I know that I am not alone with that.

:) Thank you ever so much for taking the time to respond to my post. I really do appreciate your doing so. I have the story saved on a flash drive now so if worse comes to worse and the stories are never reinstated, at least I have it. It is definitely one of the best stories on the subject - if not THE best, that I have ever read. I read the first chapter last night - it was as far as I got..🙄 :DThanks again.

The Fiction Archive is coming back!

It will not be censored of content. It will be better than ever.

talula and the rest of the great people in charge around here have taken a terrible situation and turned it into something positive for the community. Since the Fiction Archive went down they've used the opportunity to make some long overdue changes.

I've been very lucky to see some of the behind the scenes changes.

The new Archive will be much easier to navigate and search. Everything will be formatted in a much cleaner, more user friendly way. You will need to sign into the new Archive when it returns, but that means the Forums will be much better protected should complaints arise in the future.

The only problem with this, is that the full return of the Archive will take some time. When it comes back, not all of the stories will be immediately available. A LOT of reformatting has to be done. This has to be done manually and one at a time. So, some of the stories you've loved and cared about, won't re-appear immediately, but they WILL return.

I'm excited to see the final product. From the little I know for sure, it is going to be worth the wait.

Be sure to give talula your thanks. He's been working tirelessly on this, and has put in more time than should be asked of any living human. All the moderators have been taking this very seriously, and want to make sure the Fiction Archive is there for this community for years to come. Let them know how much you appreciate them. They care about this community more than you know.

I went through one old, classic favorite of mine today, and wow!

It took half an hour to clean it up.

Talula hasn't reviewed it yet to make sure I didn't totally screw it up, but it SURE looked good in the readers' window when I saved it!

There are a couple of Members who are going to be begged to help, so brace yourselves...

I was editing stories from about ten at night until about 5 in the morning. In six hours I only managed to get through about a dozen or so.

GIANT job!

I hope I get faster at this.

Yes. Some of them are fantastically huge jobs but like you said C, the formatting is so much cleaner and some of the stories that you couldn't even read, all of a sudden become a pleasure to view.

Your work today looked good P. and thanks much C for so much work. It really is appreciated. One of the nice things about doing it is you get to see immediate results.

Wish I had good news about when the fiction archive will be up and running but I don't. What I can say is we are close. I mean very close. A few more subroutines and some more testing and we are go. I won't say all the things we hope to include in the future (because people would want them then heheh) but I can say one of the first things folks may notice is a real rating system. What we hope to have at the end of it all is the best fiction website design anywhere on the internet. Can you imagine that? People looking at us with goggle eyes, drooling over our story system! Woo hoo! I'm excited!📖

OK, I think I'll stick to the non-parse column, then.

That was where it came from.

I've got a couple of folks in mind to beg and badger in helping to clean up stories for conversion. They'll be hearing from me soon. Meantime, in 3 days I've done about 10 stories. Getting better at it.
