The NOF on the WHI

Post by Andrew (imported) »

Osteoporosis is, or should be, a concern of us eunuchs as we age. Note that I wrote "concern", not "overwhelming fear". It helps to have as much information as you can.

Whilst the biology of us eunuchs is not identical to that of post-menopausal women, there is enough of an overlap that we can learn from them.

Hence I would suggest you go to the National Osteoporosis Foundation website at http://www.nof.org/ and click on the article titled "Female bone health - making sense of WHI findings on HRT."

... and if you want to do some additional research, peer into the use of Boron (mineral) which is highly recommended as a health supplement to keep strong bones.

Boron, also, has the reputation of reducing testosterone in the body -- so you could give yourself a double-whammy treat.

I have read so much about Boron that I could barf on my table and hopefully not coat the keyboard "keys" -- and I still have not come to a solid conclusion about:

- reduces testosterone

- increases testosterone

- neutral effect

Apparently Feminists in the late 80's and 90's wanted to introduce Boron into the drinking water to neutralize men (criminal rapists, mostly).

From my own physical experiments, I believe it does change the ejaculate.

P.S. - What about saltpeter? Does anyone have vast knowledge of saltpeter?

Andrew,

yes, it should be a major concern for people. In fact, it should be a major concern for more than just eunuchs and women. I know a few too many men who have osteoporosis of some form or another. One of my good friends (and my sister's ex-fiancee) has very advanced osteoporosis. With men, high risk group is in those who have taken certain medications. But most men in these groups do not even know about it until they have an acident. Jason has had to have three surguries just to repair the damage in his spine. It has hit a point where some of his bones are practically powder. So, bone density tests may be far more necissary than are often ordered, and for just about everyone.

Also:

http://www.all-natural.com/bone.html

Unfortunately, I do have osteoarthritis in my lower back thus giving me the fun of daily extreme pain. However, I don't have the problem anywhere else.

Using Boron (possibly) could reduce or eliminate your risk of developing arthritis anywhere in your body.

Andrew brings up a really important topic -- sort of like opening a can of worms because this could really GROW into HUGE piles of research and information.

Thank you.

Well, yes, but there is the cost, and whether or not it is covered by insurance varies. I have Federal Employees Blue Cross-Blue Shield, so Donna (my physician) can schedule me for biannual bone density scans, which is the recommened frequency for post-menopausal women.

One month after my own castration, Donna had me take a DEXA scan (the best of the methods) which showed me to be at 115% above normal for a man of my age. This establishes a baseline which we will use to monitor me as the years pass by.

Urban Legend, along the lines that castration will cause a grown man's voice to change to soprano. Do a GOOGLE on "potassium chloride", which is what saltpeter is.

No, it won't. I have brought up the subject of osteoporosis several times in the last couple of years. (I do say in my signature that my primary concern is eunuch health issues, right?) Most of the time the thread peters out after a few replies.

This is to be expected. I post URLs to information. Each eunuch is supposed to be an adult male capable of making his own decisions. They can read the information and decide what to do about it, but they rarely post replies.

That is too bad -- that they don't reply -- especially on this topic. My Mother just had an awful operation related to body calcium but that is a private matter. All went well.

I read overnight that there are countries with trace Boron in the drinking water and these peoples never have arthritis. Wonderful!

Someone should develop (preferably a physician although many of us self-medicate) a comprehensive diet and vitamin program of mineral/glandular/hormone replacement. I believe that Boron is very useful as I've used it for years. Saltpeter, potassium chloride as you say, is unknown territory. Too much of it sounds dangerous. There used to be jokes in high school about it causing impotence -- perhaps an end result many want to achieve. I used it in chemistry.

Thank you, Andrew.

Well, there you have it.

Many eunuch wannabees might be very pleased by adding some saltpeter to coffee each morning!
