I like to post on this thread now and again to keep it alive. Has anyone gone to Dr. Arnkoff for their castration recently? Is he still active?

I considered going to him until my urologist here at home said he'd castrate me through my insurance. I hope Arnkoff is still castrating men for those who aren't as l lucky as me.

Look forward to hearing from everyone out there who has been to visit him!

Glad to see someone bumping this thread. Want to keep viable options open for folks.

He quoted me $2900 a week or two ago, mentioning that his schedule was booked almost as solid as the snowbanks and suggested that I schedule for well into the future.

Granted, since he was trying to duplicate the thoroughness normally associated with an inguinal through a scrotal incision, he may have quoted me for a slightly more involved procedure than E2B wanted.

Interesting. What would your include that normally wouldn't be?

I wondered the same thing. Cutting spermatic cords don't really vary, do they? My doctor used scissors to cut the cords after he divided and clamped them. I know some use scalpels, but same result, yes?

When treating intractable chronic pain with orchiectomy, the outcome depends strongly on the approach in question. There's a 55% cure rate for scrotal orchiectomy, and a 75% cure rate for inguinal. The difference in results, I believe, is a result of the difference in how much of the sperm cord is routinely removed in each approach. I requested a quote for an inguinal procedure, but his counteroffer was that he believed he could remove as much of it with a "high scrotal incision" approach.

Thus, the extra money may be there to cover an extra twenty minutes of work, plus the cost of extra-long-handled forceps and scissors.

Alternately, there was a $100 price hike after 2B booked his appointment and before I cold-called the good doctor.

I wonder how much more will actually be taken out, and if the healing time would increase. I want as much gone as possible..

Hello, I'm new here. I made an appointment for June. The cost for mine is going to be $3000. I'm not transgender, but it didn't seem to matter; he still agreed to do it. He told me to call two weeks before my appointment, presumably for information about what to bring, etc.
