My wife and I have had many discussions about my high libido and her low libido. She and I both researched T blockers before I went on Androcur 2 years ago. She has stated I am much easier to live with since I lowered my T levels. (last test showed levels at 230, still not low enough for me) We talked for hours about the next step and I was hoping my Doc would be somewhat helpful but alas, he wants me to go on T replacement and Viagra. I showed her Dr. Arnkoff's web site and she was happy that I could get the surgery done relatively close by for a very reasonable price. We have looked at many web sites that talk about the effects of Orchie and she asked me if any of them scared me. My answer was only I hope it helps me get control of my libido as well as most men stated it does. I can tolerate and defend against all others as necessary.

We looked at our calendars last night and it seems the soonest we will both be available and have someone to watch the rug rats will be the last week of October. I am going to drop the Dr. a note today and ensure this works with his schedule but it finally all seems to be coming together.

We are both fortunate that we have women who understand our desires to reduce our libido. It is so much nicer for me today to not be constantly distracted by sexual thoughts and the desire for sex anymore. It's not that I can no longer can have sex, I can, but just that it isn't all that important to me anymore. Without the ability to anticipate it, the daily craving for it just isn't there. When I told my wife that even on HRT I wasn't horny any longer, she said that it was good. My wife and I seem to be much more compatible sexually today, which seems to have strengthened our marriage.

Surgery date set, finances in order just need to find a Hotel near by the Doctors Office. My life seems more peaceful already. The wife has been very kind and understanding lately. Hopefully this is just the beginning of more good things to come.

There's a few of them (Hotel/motel) in that area. I was looking for one that had a restaurant so I didn't have to go wandering around looking for something to eat especially after the procedure. The one I used and I'll apologize in advance for not remembering the exact name, was a Marriott only a couple of miles from his office. It's a little wierd since there's another Marriott next door, but this is a bit older hotel, seven stories I think, has a restaurant, room service and a bar. The prices were reasonable, the service was great, the restaurant was pretty good and the room service was REALLY nice the first night after the procedure. I thought it a bit wierd, but it's right next to another Marriot which is newer, two stories, no restaurant or bar. What they call a "Courtyard" type I think? Perhaps that'll help you find the one I used if interested?

For me it worked out really well because once the anesthetic wears off, driving around or even doing the walking he recommends is no picnic.

I do not have a scheduled time yet. The Doctor told me to call his nurse the week before and she will make all the arrangements.

You will find that your testosterone level will plummet and the need for HRT to maintain stamina. Also, you probably will lose almost all of your desire for sex even when using HRT, while still being able to perform when needed. That's my experience anyway; others may have different ones.

I don't know. For me, it's just that my libido is now very low. It is impossible for me to dream about sex anymore even if I try to or think abut it during the day. Even porno doesn't arouse me. However, I get involuntary hard ons at night with the HRT and can still have sex with my wife, it's just there is no anticipation of having sex with her like before. Also, I no longer feel the need for it and don't miss it but it is still enjoyable for me whenever I do have it. I guess that the best way to describe it is that I can take or leave it.
