The incision is fully closed over but I'm going to keep a dressing on just in case today. I would love to get this air conditioner out of my window today but it's freaking heavy so I gotta put up with it for a couple more days. With all the bruising it hurts a lot more to look at the surgery site than it actually hurts feeling it.

Hey, I think you need to wait more than a couple more days. Honestly you can put up with the thing in the window. I would think a min of a couple weeks is in order in regards to doing any heavy work. The last thing you need is to start a hemorage, or pop a hernia. Other than that thanks for all the insight cant wait till I make my trip to see Dr A

There haven't been a whole lot of mental changes or anything yet. I am smiling a lot more than usual now though.

all is well so far. The bruising is starting to subside a bit already, no drainage since yesterday morning, 2 days in and I no longer need the vicodin while awake. The way I sleep I tend to squash the sack a little bit so I take half a tab as a precaution so I don't wake up screaming.

The T has not worked it's way out of my system completely but there's still enough for me to get erections periodically but they're not constant like they once were. I'm not thinking about sex quite as often now though.

Byebyejunk (imported) wrote: Mon Oct 24, 2011 11:41 pm I also forgot to mention, detroit's traffic patterns are f*(ked. Badly. If/when you go be very careful. Some of the streets in the area are 50 MPH zones when equivalent traffic patterns in other cities are 30 MPH zones. If you're not confident in your driving abilities have someone else do it. I was more nervous driving to the office than I was about the surgery itself.

I appreciate your experience reports but this particular comment caught my eye since I've been debating what to do about the car thing. I've been concerned about having to drive back to the airport with pain killers onboard and an unfamiliar city. So I looked at doing the taxi cab thing but it's about $65.00 each way from the airport, then you'd need one for the office visit and you mention picking up a local anesthetic cream as well as the scripts.

Could a guy pull this off doing the running around with a cab or are there just too many places to go for it to be a reasonable cost? I can get a small rental car for two days for less than the cost of just one way from or to the airport.

Other than the pain meds and you mention not taking them, driving doesn't really bother me since I spent 30 years driving Public Safety emergency vehicles. So considering your experience and posted thoughts; rental car and no pain meds Sunday morning or taxi cab?

Thanks!

I am thinking in reference to getting around in the Doctors city, that if someone who will be driving could schedule an appointment on the same day as someone flying in that they could get together. Maybe stay in same hotel. Might even be nice to have someone with you that is sharing your experience. I will be driving and wouldn't mind at all helping someone who is flying in. But right now I don't know when I will be scheduling with the doctor.

There's a walgreens right next to the office so you can grab your prescriptions then. If you're flying you can get away with the anasthetic cream and supplies before you even arrive in town.

Okay thanks for the information, sounds like a rental car and avoid the pain meds on Sunday morning 'till I get back to the airport is the most financially reasonable way to go.
