Hello, I am a MTF, my endocrinologist has started me on 2 MG of Estradiol and 2.5 MG of Finasteride. She wants to start me slow before adding in a stronger anti-androgen and increasing my estrogen. So I have two questions.
Will the dosages do anything noticeable to my body?
And my Dr. seems to be willing to work with me on what kind of medications I take. So from your knowledge what kind of hormones should I take? Dosages, injections vs patches vs pills ect.
Thanks!
Just need some advice.

I'd say your doctor has your best interests at heart. The dosages she prescribes are probably to acclimate you to the "foreign" hormones. Give the doctor and the hormones time to work before you try to corrupt them. Physical changes don't occur over night.

i agree i would say listen to your doctor as they truly have your best intrest at heart take it easy and go with the flow so to speak things will not happen overnight infact it will be one hell of a slow and long road but stick with it to get the goal that you want

Agreed, this is a very good start introducing the hormone changes into your body. It will take many months before anything obviously noticeable begins to occur. Finasteride blocks the 5-AR conversion of Testosterone to the more potent Di-Hydro-Testosterone, which is responsible for male pattern baldness and prostate enlargement. At 2mg of estradiol, your body will likely very gradually adjust to a lower level of testosterone. After many months at this level, you might expect an increase from your endocrinologist. The endocrine system is a very delicate balance of many, many chemicals, all of them interacting and balancing with each other. Regular blood tests will be necessary to evaluate how your body chemistry is adjusting, and that it is remaining stable.
Good luck!!
