Well I already sent emails to janekane, Il Musico and StefanIsMe. The only one I heard back from was Stefan. Apparently the numerical HTML link does not work for him, and he will wait until the site is up regularly. I also sent a note to Slammr, but I'm guessing that was unnecessary. (Mod?)

I'm still pretty new around here, and I don't feel comfortable contacting too many people out of the blue.

If I think of any more to contact, I'll do it, but most of the people I converse with are already back on the forums.

edit:

I forgot to mention Caultron. I sent him an e-mail when I finished reading and reviewing his story, Separation Anxiety. I included the numerical link for him in that message. I haven't heard back from him.

I was out of my state of residence, having my after-one-month surgery follow-up at the university hospital where I had the June "bilateral prosthectomy" surgery, prevously mentioned, and got back home late yesterday. On pretending to be computer literate, I found the IP address and, here I am...

Because my orchiectomy was done with the purpose of cancer risk minimization, given my family terminal when first detected cancer history, the urology resident did remark that, were I dead because of cancer, dying as my brother did, my testicles would be dead anyway.

Today, I read the Times (of London) piece by Richard Wassersug, "In becoming a eunuch, I became a better man." Which leads me towhat may be another technical issue.

I did not encounter a diminished capacity for multitasking or diminished memory function. The technical issue which comes to my mind is about whether there are side effects from anti-androgen medication (chemical castration for cancer or cancer risk treatment/prevention/minimization) which I did not encounter because I merely got rid of the main testosterone source without using medications having possible side effects?

Whether chemical castration for prostate cancer treatment sometimes, for some people, has side effects which orchiectomy does not have may yet be a technical issue worthy of further research. Anecdotal single person stories are not necessarily rigorous science.

As for the underlying technical issue, as I guess I may understand it, some of the fiction stories may be seriously misunderstood, particularly when aspects of a story remind people of intense issues involving real child abuse. In the absence of a practical and lawful way for the managers of the site to verify individual identity accurately, I have yet to dream up a solution other than carefully screening the stories which can be found here.

Yes, I am aware of people being banned for posting things which endanger the availability of the useful information here for people, of which I am one, who have valid reasons for considering castration as a way to avoid a seriously unsatisfactory life. For me, being dead as my brother is, for want of effective cancer prevention because of not having had life-sparing surgery/surgeries, would have been my deciding to commit suicide by neglect, and I found that to be unconscionable.

Living with mind-body disparity of unmanageable intensity would be, for me, much like being dead while alive.

Kindness, decency, compassion, and caring are what guide my life.

That said, if it is impractical and harmful to screen people, what else is left other than to screen the stories?

Moral, ethical, social, medical, personal dilemmas happen.

Oh my!

Look at all your new sun bursts and pips.

🙏

I tried Stefan too. The others are totally to your credit. <ka-ching ka-ching>, for what it is worth. :)

Be advised that what is left of EA is going to be going off line before long. BME has decided to stop hosting us. That will happen soon. we are trying to get things worked out. if not we will be transferring everything to eunuchworld.com

When will it go down? Or, do you not have that info yet?

also,

Will the fiction archive go with it, or just the forum?

(Clearly I don't know how these things work.)

Thanks, I book marked the page already and noticed the index on the left.

All looked recognizable except

the absence of Opinions, Advice & Laughs Forums; Deep Dark Cellar, Jokes & Media,Tech & Computers and Political Discussions.

Will they be back or gone?

Also, are you able to "auto e-mail", sort of, all members who have filed an e-mail contact address in their profiles of the changes? ?

If you can and do i will give you a reputation tag.

😄

Cainanite,

Thanks for sending the IP address. I was away from home, out of state and out of useful Internet access, and, on returning home last night and getting up this morning and finding "fraudshutdown," checked with River, who offered to email the IP to me, only he was busy, so I did my own IP research, and got here before your post, only I was repeatedly interrupted by phone calls, and you sent your email to me after I had started writing my post.

Abuse happens. I was sexually molested in high school by another student in the shower after a gym class. It happened only once, because I found a way to make it stop without reporting the student, while making clear that, if I heard of another such incident with anyone else, I would take necessary action. Therefore, I do not overlook abuse others have experienced, nor do I overlook how people may be constrained by life experiences into dealing with abuse indirectly, through stories which some people may find troubling because such stories reflect real, tragic abuse which is socially taboo to such extent as allowing that it happens is even more taboo than the abuse itself.

Deception is a curious phenomenon. It seems to me that, if a person is deceived and is aware of being deceived and understands the deception, then the person is not deceived.

The most severe abuse I ever encountered happened when I explained my concerns regarding cancer risk and optimal cancer risk minimization strategies, only to find my concerns rejected by "society" until after my brother had developed the form of terminal cancer I have, thus far, successfully avoided.

When a person observes that some aspect of life is destroying life and there is something that can be done to plausibly overcome the destruction, is it not destructive to not do it? That is what I understood and understand.

I made a choice, an informed choice, and, in retrospect, a very wise, life-giving choice. When I made that choice, it was a guess, though a well-considered guess. Before something happens, whether or not it will happen is, at best a guess, and I doubt that life that has yet to occur ever gets better than that.

Second-guessing any newborn child makes the gift of life defiled.

When not all can be saved, it is wise to save what is considerately deemed the most important first?

I have given up parts of my body to save the rest of it.

Is that a useful framing paradigm for how to continue the useful work of this community?

Incidentally, some casual checking leads me to the hunch that Google has cached pretty much everything ever posted here.
