I, for one, don't believe in soft-pedaling the truth. When my fellow chatters ask me what happened to the Eunuch Archive, I'm honest with them.

I say our server was hit with a big fracking meterorite.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I was afraid that EA was gone forever! But it wasn't. After googleing around I found Losethem posting in tribes.network.com with correct IP address.

On first page of EA we should give instructions how to make EA work. entering correct IP isn't enough.

For windows XP one must edit hosts file, making following entry:

184.80.18.34 www.eunuch.org

---------------

Hosts file can be found here:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

this entry forces all connections directed on www.eunuch.org to physical IP 184.80.18.34 and everything just starts to work. Includng Personals, chat and story archive.

this entry must be kept there until this strange DNS problem is solved.

just figured how to get in using the IP hello everyone! id be lying if i said i hadn't been concerned!

so has a virus hit EA, or a cock up? or is EA the next target for internet censorship as loooooads of eunuch type groups have been dissapearing 1 by 1 lately.... hope this isn't the case

Since it seems there is a lull, just thought I'd make my first post under my new user name. I who was once Bat Boy....grew up to be Batman....am now and forevermore Wolf-Pup. For those who care. I figure its the regular bunch on here so a good place to post it while the technical issues are sorted out.

I realized that I might be a Vampire as they can turn into bats and wolves...however it could just be a happy coincidence

I did this on my XP machine and it works well, though quite a bit slower than before. On my Windows 7 machine I am having trouble convincing the computer that I am the administrator and have permission to muck about in the hosts file. And surprisingly the fiction archive works fine this way (it wouldn't work just entering 184.80.18.34 ) Since I haven't chatted, I don't know if that works.
