I ask,

What would Jesus drive?

Christian Ministers/Priests driving new luxury cars always struck me as hypocritical.

Look for the preacher driving a used Chevey! (or Ford)

Nuff said.

But in Japan they worship Penises. You know, DICKS, just like televangelists, DICKS... Penises... hey, maybe we are on to something... now where are those 72 virgins?

Where are all they all? Maybe even all the PASTORS are in big trouble too!!!

Jeremiah 23:1 (KJV)

Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord .

Jeremiah 23:2 (KJV)

Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord .

Jeremiah 12:10 (KJV)

Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

Jeremiah 22:22 (KJV)

The wind shall eat up all thy pastors, and thy lovers shall go into captivity: surely then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.

We have had flooding, tornado, heavy rains, hot weather, drought, and forest fires. One of these has hit most of the USA so where are all the preachers gone?

They are still out there preaching their hate for anybody that is not like them. After all they are the chosen ones.

😄

Do you know how many different Christian Sects are in the United States?

Take a guess.

And remember that each one of them hates the others as not quite getting it right not our kind of Christian.

Go ahead Mac, take a guess.

Jeremiah was a BULLFROG,

He was a good friend of mine,

I never understood a single word he said,

But I helped him drink his wine...

Given that Jesus chose to ride on a donkey the first time around I suspect that on his return he will ride a bicycle. If he travels in a fancy limo he ain't the real Jesus.

I suspect we would have a rerun of last time. He would arrive in the back of a prison transport van. Be delivered into the legal system for a short show trial leading to a speedy death sentence. Probably with the approval of all those good Christian preachers. Just like last time.

Or maybe we would just ship him off to Guantanamo.

However it happened, I find I am a true-believer skeptic. As a skeptic, I find I am apparently more skeptical of skepticism than anything else.

I suppose that makes me some sort of heretical apostate within every doctrine- and dogma-based established religion that will ever exist.

Crystal Cathedral; no more drive-in theaters in which to start over? My skepticism aroused, I checked with that deity which has come to surpass all other deities, the one having the most hallowed name of all, Google.

I sent a prayer to Google, via keystrokes, computer, and Internet connectivity, the prayer being "operating drive in theaters" and, sure enough, my Internet prayer was answered with, "www(dot)driveintheater(dot)com"

As true confession, what alerted my skepticism was living in a county where there remains one of the operating drive-in theaters listed in the web site which was the answer to my prayer.

Methinks there are dozens of drive-in theaters which may yet be available for use by wanna-be mega-churches.

My daddy was one of them thar preacher folks who, until a teenager clobbered him while running a stop sign, could never afford a new car. The court settlement allowed my dad to buy the first new car he ever owned, a minimalist inline-6 Plymouth. When came time for a car that could have seat belts for increased safety, there was enough value in that Plymouth to get a new one with seat belts. After a number of years, and increasing gasoline costs, my dad was able to sell that Plymouth for enough money to cover the costs of a new Dodge Dart, which came with lap and shoulder belts for even greater safety.

My daddy's dad was also one of them thar preacher folks, who, when horses were becoming obsolete, was able to buy a used car from a a church member for cheap.

On account of engineers don't got the communication privilege rights of physicians, attorneys, or pastors, I decided one day to follow in the footsteps of my daddy and granddaddy, and became a member of the ordained clergy, doing so in large measure so that I can talk with people with pastoral privilege, meaning that a well meaning, but mean, member of the law establishment has not the right to make me out anyone with whom I talk in my continuous role as a pastor. Of course, I have no church and no income as a pastor, and, hence, my car for use as a pastor is a used car; it is the 1971 slant-6 Dodge Dart my daddy bought somewhat over a year before he died from cancer in 1972.

The car I have available for use as a pastor is about 42 years old, and I got it used, as part of my inheritance from my dad. As a church, so I find in reading that Book, requires the gathering of two or more, and as I am but one person, I am not the pastor of a church. That renders me non-sectarian and non-denominational and non-divisive, because I have nothing to divide and nothing to divide that nothing with. Because I seek to be law-abiding, and because I find that a pastor doing pastoral counseling pro-bono is defined as a form of business entity under law, I have properly registered my pastoral counseling pastorate with proper government officials.

Harley-Davidson? Vastly outside what I can imagine ever being able to afford. Yet, as a proper pastor, as punkypink indicated, I do need a "motorcycle." to be proper. It has a 49cc engine and a moped license. And I am working on the long hair and the long beard.

Obviously, I am not Jesus. But then, everyone here already knows that. Ask Jesus. He is one of our esteemed members.

There is "our" Jesus, and there is "that" other Jesus.

As a pastor, and therefore, as a religious person, I am required by the nature of religion to have my system of dogma and doctrine, for, without dogma and doctrine, surely religion cannot exist.

Herewith, I state my system of dogma and doctrine, for the sake of simple, truthful honesty:

My religious dogma is, there shall be no other dogma; my religious doctrine is, there shall be no other doctrine.

What greater skepticism can exist?
