Wish These Had Been Around When I was A Kid!

Post by artisticlicense (imported) »

I grew up when dune buggies were first promoted on television in episodes of shows like "The Rat Pack" (really telling my age there!). Later-on, one was improved with a fiberglass shell, over a Volkswagen frame. All the kids in my neighborhood wanted one.

I have always loved bicycles, and when the first 4-wheel bicycle came along; I fell in love with them too. They remind me of the Model-T ride at Six Flags over Texas. That was my favorite ride as a kid. Each time we went, my dad would know where to find me when I went missing!

With gas becoming everly more expensive, with no end in sight; I think things like these bikes will become more readily available, and used.

I want this one the most; ATC (http://www.lightfootcycles.com/atc_recu ... acycle.php) From Lightfoot Cycles (http://www.lightfootcycles.com/index.php).

I really like this one too; QuadraSprint (http://www.quadracycleinc.com/showroom/showroom.html) From Quadracycle Inc (http://www.quadracycleinc.com/index.html).

Quads?

Best way of committing suicide. Lol

Just ask Ozzy Osbourne. (or if you're British, Rik Mayall)

Huh? What happened to Ozzy? I missed that.

(Isn't Ozzy British too?)

Ozzy broke his neck on one of those things. Go a quick search for 'ozzy atv' if you want more details.

I've ridden one of those. The big problem with them is that they are so low, that if you ride them on the street, cars might not see you and pull into you. They are cool, though. I almost bought one. The bicycle shop talked me out of it for the reasons I just stated.

I just watched the Ozzy video. Not the same type of ATV.

I don't want a motorized bike.

But it goes to show you that one can't be too careful.

We used to pretend our bicycles were motorcycles, as kids; jumping ramps and such. Where there's a will; there's a way.

I'm sure if a kid had one of the pedal quads I like, it could become dangerous, unsupervised.

I seriously doubt I would face any real hazards on a pedal quad around the farm. Mine will be mainly a work vehicle.

I'm an old fart now. Much over 15 MPH would probably frighten me!

I asked about spring-loaded seats in my consult! 😄

You bet, I have been looking at them for some time, and I am going to get one for sure. Beats walking and the price of gas is, I don't give a damn.

Once they finish the roundabout just up from me I will be on a bike trail from my house to the store and back, life is good.

I think MacWolf should sell his house and move in with River. I think the two of them would make a good pair.😄
