I think the name you end up using will be the right one, and it still could be Loki. We have a name we were given at birth, and we have a name that we give ourselves, when you find that name you know its right and there is no need to change it.

Good luck to you,

River

Is this really your decision, or were you pressured into it? I know that Thefraj was pressured very hard by his NHS physician to start either E or T. You need a good counselor AND a good endocrinologist. Maybe (or even probably) one or the other hormone is right for you, but be sure before you do something irreversible.

What Jesus said; this seems a little out of the blue. What's your reasoning on this?

Loki is a beautiful name either male or female- IMHO. If you are fine with the name, keep it.... i'm sure there are many people who change gender and don't switch names. I would think that as long as your current name does not have negative feelings in you ( ie- remind you of the male persona that you never were or transioning from) and you like the name, then why change it? Just my 2 cents :)

I could be way in left field on this one, but I think maybe jesus read some reluctance in the tone of the post??? It seemed to me that Loki is/ was confused and the makeup comment made is seem like maybe the therapist is the one suggesting the female diagnosis??? Again maybe that was not Loki's intent in the post.... maybe we will get a clarification from Loki.

I would be curious to know how long have you been seeing the therapist?

Also, Loki what was your intent at 13 when you became a eunuch? Were you questioning your gender then, or just did not was to go thru puberty for some other reason?

Either way, just make sure the gender fits you.... there are alot of gray areas between male or female, so why put a label on yourself if your not comfortable.

I wish you the best Loki :)
