Good luck!

What are these added health benefits?

It helps prevent ostoporosis as it mimics estrogen without feminization. It may be possible to loose libido and erection using an anti E drug alone without altering T. Anyone tried that?

If you take Arimidex and I assume Tamoxifen too, if you lower your estrogen levels too low you won't be able to get an erection. However long term low estrogen can lead to osteoporosis.

I take 1/4 tablet of arimidex twice a week to keep estrogen in check (I am on testosterone injections). I do know first hand it can kill erections if you go too low.

I have read a lot of posts about Tamoxifen causing a real drop in libido when added to Androcur. It is just so hard to know how my body will react. I did more research on it today and it seems it does have a few added benefit's especially concerning the reduction of Osteoporosis. I will ask my Doc if he recommends adding it when I meet with him in July.

Thanks, Hoosierdad

Tamoxifen is a replacement of estrogen. The real estrogen drops thus lowering libido. It also prevents breast growth. But it replaces estrogen in bone structures thus avoiding osteoporosis.

Okay cool. I only knew it was an anti-cancer drug for women as is Arimidex and that they worked differently.

So if someone is looking to kill erections, Arimidex would seem to be the proper choice...although it can lead to Osteoporosis and whatever else low estrogen causes. I've been that low on 1/4 tablet (1mg tablets) and it takes a few days or so before the E builds up again, but it isn't like taking an anti-androgen which takes months to reverse its effects. Depending on how much you take of Arimidex I think it would be out of ones system in a week or so. What I have read is that if you go too low for a long period of time, it takes a lot longer for the body to start making it and building it back up to normal levels.

There is another thread "Numbing the Cock" on the Gay and Bi topic where an individual has been using a maximum strength benzocaine (20%) ointment over several months, 3 times daily that has resulted in a numb penis. Perhaps this is a temporary, (or permanent) solution for anyone trying to eliminate erections. According to the individual it has left him with no sensation on the external shaft or head.

While it would not change or reduce sexual urges, it would be as effective a a chastity cage. For some it might be what they are looking for.

Depo-Provera according to a study I read seems to do a better job. Of course it is not as good as just having your balls removed. Over a period of one year 300 men ages 31 to 54 men were studied 48 were surgically done. The rest were given injections of Depo-Provera. All but 3 of the surgically castrated lost the ability to achieve erections within one year most within 6 months. The Depo-Provera men did better with 68 being able to get it up and wanting to use it on not to frequent occasions. All men reported a dramatic decrease in sexual desire and total a loss of sperm production. The pattern was the same but faster for the one s who elected to remove their balls. First the sperm production stops. Then the desire is gone and finely the erections disappear.

Depro-Provera is really getting popular with Corrections Canada. They are running programs that require offenders that want early release to be tested for devent sexual urges and if positive as over 90% are must agree to injections of Depo-Provera or in some cases castration. They are again tested after 3 months of treatment and all show a decrease of sexual interest. If the inmate is totally impotent and most reach this stage at some point it is viewed as a sucess and his parole is more likely. Some are seen as eleagable for surgical treatment and it is quietly done and seen as very effective. If the inmate asks for it he will recieve the procedure as early in his treatment as possable.

So your not the only one looking to take the sting out the man. There is not a lot of research on the subject. But what they have done to date shows clearly the best way to remove sexual urges and loose the ability to acheive erections is simply to remove your balls the old fasion way.

I agree with alreadydone. Based on my experience and reading other's experiences here and elsewhere, I would add: "
