Re: Rapture
Many of you here have spoken about the Catholic Church. Many of you have expressed how Baptist and Bible thumpers are bad.. In the last six years I have attended St. Leonard's Catholic Church numerous times with Bob.. To which I will say, if you really pay attention to what the priest says and think, the under lying message is the same as what is said in a Baptist Church. The Bible contains 66 books and what is it five more for the Catholics? If every thing was written and printed that could have been, the book would be so big we could not carry it. There are so many missing links.. So many questions that I wish had been answered.

Re: Rapture
This is the Rapture they talk about:
Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Thess 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Thess 4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

And for those conservatives who only accept the Gospels;
Matthew 24
And 24:36 states the time is only known to the Lord. Not even the Trinity but the Lord alone.

Re: Rapture
The word 'rapture' is never said in the bible, however it is a point of reference as said above.

Re: Rapture
The gospel of Matthew chapter 24 is where this comes from and it would do everyone a world of good to read the entire chapter.
Here's the last three paragraphs. It is one of those tiny little lessons on how to live that serves even for the non-believer. Remember the "thief in the night" and the "wicked servant" ...

36 But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, My master is staying away a long time, 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I'm confused. I thought the Father and the Son, both part of the Trinity, were One, yet "Nor the Son" will know. Does that mean the Son isn't God? Why is God - the Father - hiding it from him? What's he going to do, spring it on him one day?
