For a couple of days now, when I fire up the computer I get a message box under the blue banner of Outlook Express. It says something like Outlook Express can free disc space by compressing messages. I have always Xed out. I do not use Outlook Express.
Is that real or a clever trick?

I'm looking in my dumbell book. It refers to AutoArchiving in Outlook, not compression. Look under Tools > Options in Options Menu select Other, then AutoArchive. I would look into this archiving before I would allow it "compress" your folders.

Re: Outlook Express Message
Ive been dealing with that sort of thing on one computer at my office, this computer will pop up about once a month, even though I've totally removed outlook express from the system.
The staff member just has it do the compression and it goes away for a month or so.
I think I will have to go in to the registry to remove it completely. But I look at this as "its Microsoft" Go Figure.
