Re: Chocolate
Moi, there is nothing wrong with Milk Chocolate don't confuse good milk chocolate with CANDY the stuff made by Hershey's or the other big candy makers, (I like that too), there is a difference. When you get delivered to your door milk chocolate dipped Strawberry's a dozen to the box. Or get some good German Milk Chocolate, have not had any of that in a while but very good stuff.
White Chocolate is an misnomer, that's like saying I have a great apple for you tastes just like an orange.

Re: Chocolate
"White Chocolate" is something I buy selectively.
A good chocolate producer and made from cocoa butter, sans cocoa powder.
If there is Blue Berries or Vanillin or even real vanilla to produce a vanilla flavor, No!
Well maybe for the blueberries. Special times.
The trick with good white chocolate is to enjoy it on a palate unpolluted with other chocolate.
Milk Chocolate. Yes there is some good stuff. Even Hershey's at the right time. Cadbury - barely if even qualifies as Milk Chocolate the cocoa is so low. And if I am going to spend money, I want the "real thing" although Milk Chocolate adds a mouth-feel appeal. Unlike Russian chocolate that crunches and barely dissolves in the mouth, a body temperature melt point does add to the overall "mouth-feel". The trick there is finding a high cocoa content chocolate blended with a good "mouth feel". The best of both may be found, in the opinion of two judges,
PERUGINA Dark Chocolate available at some grocery stores near you.
When I was on Atkins I use go mix cocoa powder in a few tablespoons of cream or 1/2-1/2, need the fatty liquid - not milk, until a thick paste. Add Equal + a tad of vanilla. It was a chocolate fix. Yes it was.
What of chocolate in hot weather. Who wants a hot cup of cocoa or even a chocolate fix. Never fear, Lindt Chile Chocolate is here to add zest and flavor to a chocolate uncraved summer.
Remember, Chocolate is one of the four major food groups. Red meat is the other three.

River DEAR
you know only for you would I go to my local See's store and collect a pound of fresh buttercreams and send them to you after October. Not a fresh Foster's Farms Chicken, but See's Chocolate and - - nothing owed. (You can still ban me)
Chocolate is love!
At least at the neurochemical level.

Call me out if it don't happen, upon request. You know where to find me.

Just a few private details required, like dark or light?
A few Raspberry Dark Chocolates in the mix. Or others in a hand made box.
I find the Dark Chocolate Scotch Mellow particularly under appreciated as well as
a brick of English Toffee. A Russky friend likes the Almond Royals. Soft chocolate covered almonds, cello wrapped.
Oh, yes, an address, after October to guarantee non melting.
Regardless, I will not send a California fresh Foster Farms Chicken.

Re: Chocolate
We have a local chain "Rocky Mountain" chocolate factory that can turn out some pretty good turtles,
and dipped strawberries.
We also have a local place that makes great toffee.
At one time Russell Stover had local shops like See's and made good candy.
My favorite block chocolate is el Rey "Apamate", but since it comes from Venezuela it is a lot harder to
find now.

Ivory Coast cocoa output hits record despite crisis
" . . . the market had expected a slump in the world's top cocoa producer, but instead the export of beans in 2011 totalled 1.417 million tonnes, as against 1.2 million in 2010. . ."
Another major crisis averted. Or has it.
Any new chocolate news out there? I have discovered the Lindt Chili and Lindt Salt bars are not only cheaper but, tastier then Vosges chocolate equivalents.

If I have guns and you have chocolate, I will have guns and chocolate.

Resurrecting an old thread?
Neigh!
Chocolate is eternal
I am not a Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream fan.
So to favor them adds to the discovery.
Ben & Jerry's
Chocolate Theapy
"Here's the blueprint: deep, rich chocolate ice cream, crumbled chocolate cookies and
swirls of chocolate-pudding ice cream."

I really recommend giving this a try when you need to remember,
"Who luvs ya?"

Re: Chocolate
I've commented on my love for Bernard Callebault chocolates (google them... wowza), but have to add:
- I love home-made brownies, the kind where the top 'crackles' a bit; I ice half of it with simple chocolate icing (icing sugar, butter, cocoa powder, a drop of (REAL, PURE) vanilla, and cream.. nothing else), and leave the other half without. YUMM!!!!!
- I like fudge, but HATE store-bought fudge. All packaged fudge tastes just horrid. There is some sort of strange, plastic-y taste to each and every kind I've tried.
- One favorite candy chocolate bar lately, even though the company is known for inferior cocoa-mass in their chocolate; Dark Chocolate Caramilk bars. Holy heck in a handbag, are these things great.
- Anyone else keep a bag of Hershy's semi-sweet chocolate chips in the cupboard for no other reason than being able to pour a handful of pure chocolate rush every once in a while?
Yeah... choco-holics anonymous, anyone?
