Dealing with nocturia (urination at night)
Has anyone experience nocturia (night urination ) when taking androcur? I have that problem since I started taking androcur. Any ways to deal with it?

I had this problem while on Siterone and still do now after I injected myself with alcohol. Waking two times a night to go became normal for me. I've tried to not drink anything just before going to bed and to urinate before I do. It seems to help and now I often can sleep through most of the night without having to get up, until to about when I normally would wake up in the morning.
Although I knew about this might be an issue before I started, I still don't know why it occurs.
Note: I only have had the urge to urinate at night and have never wet the bed. I always wake up first.

Yes i to also have found myself waking up at night wet, with me it has got so bad that at night now,i wear protection so that i dont wake up wet or with a wet bed.
I had been told that this ould happen while i was on this, it is a bit of a pain as when go to sleep thats me i dont wake up,not even when i am wetting,so it is not untill the morning that i find out that i have wet during the night.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I did not have any problem with night time urination. Nothing changed on this department, before, during and after the 4 years or so of Androcur.

Re: Dealing with nocturia (urination at night)
I also have a problem with getting up at least 3-4 times a night but have yet to wet the bed.
I also have a problem during the day getting a real strong urge to urinate and sometimes it passes. Most often though it results in a small squirt so to speak getting by. I never realized the nocturne was a issue caused by siterone and alcohol injections. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary of my castration. I don't take T as that for me would be counter productive to all I went thru but am taking estrogen. I am currently waiting for results from a urine specimen. I had this done because I was unaware that this might be caused by what I have done.
Not trying to hijack the thread but this does apply to me. I guess I should stop lurking and speak up.
Thanks Terry

Its good to hear from you Terry. Please keep in touch with our group.
Truth be said, I still have to urinate twice and three times during the night, ever since starting Siterone and finishing with the injections. It not all that bad. I'm pretty much used to it now and still get enough sleep at night. I would like to know the reason for it, though.

Re: Dealing with nocturia (urination at night)
For years I would get up in the middle of the night to go pee, it continued through taking castration drugs, but sense being castrated and getting a Cpap I sleep all night long, truly one of the benefits of castration.

Looks like riverwide has just added another good reason for castration

I believe that the opposite is more often the case, despite Riverwind's experience. One of the noted effects of male castration is an increased need to urinate more often. It, like many of the other effects, depends upon the individual male, however.
